Whakapaku block aforesaid, to the western boundary of Williamson’s land; thence by the western, south-
ern, and eastern boundaries of Williamson’s land aforesaid, and again by part of the southern boundary
of the Whakapaku block aforesaid, to the Wairakau creek, and by said creek and Fekapeka bay to Wha-
garoa harbour; towards the east by the waters of the Whangaroa harbour aforesaid, and the Pupuke
river, to the northern boundary of the Pupuke block; towards the south-west by part of the northern
boundary of the Pupuke block aforesaid, from the Pupuke river abovementioned to the south-eastern
boundary of the Kohumaru parish, thence by part of the south-eastern, and the whole of the south-western
boundaries of the Kohumaru parish aforesaid, to its south-western angle; towards the north-west by the
north-western boundary of the parish of Kohumaru aforesaid, to the easternmost angle of Bergham’s
claim; and towards the west by the north-eastern boundary of Bergham’s claim aforesaid, to Stony
creek aforesaid, and by said creek to the south-western angle of the Whakapaku block first-mentioned,
the place of commencement.
Bay of Islands road, and crossing the Bay of Islands road aforesaid to the eastern side of the road known
as the Mill road, thence northerly by the eastern side of the Mill road aforesaid to the northern side
of the road leading to the upper landing place, and by the northern side of said road and the northern
side of the landing place, and by the northern side of the landing place aforesaid produced to the
eastern bank of the Whangarei river; towards the east by high water mark on the eastern
bank of the Whangarei river aforesaid, from the place last-named to a point on the same at a
distance of ten chains to the eastward of the south-western angle of allotment No. 1, of the Parish of
Parahaki, thence by a right line crossing the Whangarei river aforesaid to the river termination of the
easternmost boundary of Dr. Perston’s land aforesaid, and by said eastern boundary to the southern
boundary of Dr. Perston’s land aforesaid; and towards the south and south-west by the southern
and south-western boundaries of Dr. Perston’s land aforesaid to its westernmost angle, the place of
commencement.

Province of Auckland.
WHEREAS by an Act made and passed by the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland,
with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council thereof, intituled “The Auckland Municipal Police
Act, 1866,” it is amongst other things enacted that the Superintendent may from time to time, by
public notification in the Provincial Government Gazette, appoint and define the limits of cities,
towns, and other places within the said Province, for the purposes of the said Act, and may alter and
revoke such definition.
And whereas by public notification in the Provincial Government Gazette, dated the 21st day
of October, 1875, I, Sir George Grey, the Superintendent of the said Province, in pursuance of the
powers hereinbefore recited, did proclaim and declare that for the purposes of the said Act, the limits of
the Town of Whangarei should comprise all that block of land situated within the Parish of Whanga-
rei, County of Marsden, and included within a radius of one mile from the Whangarei Post Office.
And whereas it is expedient to alter the definition of the limits of the said Town.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers in me vested in that behalf, I do hereby alter the limits of
the Town of Whangarei under the said Act, so that it shall comprise all that block of land commencing
at the northernmost angle of Dr. Perston’s land known as Rahi, bounded towards the north-west by
the north-western boundary of Dr. Perston’s land aforesaid, from the place last-named to the western
boundary of Mr. Hunt’s land known as Wycombe, thence northerly by said western boundary to the
northern boundary of Mr. Hunt’s land aforesaid, thence by part of the northern boundary of
Mr. Hunt’s land aforesaid to the Waiarohia river and thence by the Waiarohia river aforesaid to the
centre of the road which forms the south-western boundary of the subdivision into allotments of the land known as the Rev. Mr. Gorrie’s
land; towards the north by the centre of said road continued through the subdivision aforesaid to the

IT is hereby notified that the Chairman of the First Meeting of the Tauhoa Highway District has,
in accordance with the provisions of “The Highways Act, 1874,” reported in writing to the Super-
intendent the names of the undermentioned persons elected as Members of the District Board for the said
District, namely—

Samuel Wyatt,
John Flood,
Richard Newcombe,
Thomas Fletcher.
