PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By His Honour Sir George Grey, Knight Commander of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers in me vested by “The Auckland Municipal Police Act, 1866,” I do hereby alter the definition of the Town of Opotiki under the said Act, appointed and made by public notification, under the hand of the then Superintendent, dated the 15th day of February, 1868, and published in the Provincial Government Gazette, dated the 20th day of February, 1868; and I do hereby appoint that for the purposes of the said Act, the limits of the Town of Opotiki aforesaid shall be those described in the Schedule hereunder.

Given under my hand, at Wellington, in the Province of Wellington, this 29th day of September, 1876.

SCHEDULE.

All the lands and roads or streets contained within the Civil and Military Towns and Town Belt of Opotiki, and being bounded towards the North-east by the Otara River; towards the South by the centre of a road bounding on the south the Town Belt aforesaid from the Otara River before mentioned to the Waioeka River; and towards the West by the Waioeka River aforesaid to its confluence with the Otara River first mentioned, the place of commencement.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Assessment List of the above District is finally settled, and that the Rate Book now lies at the residence of Mr. T. D. Cleghorn, near Epsom, for inspection, and the Rates must be paid to Mr. Henry Clark, Onehunga.
