PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Knight Commander of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath,
Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.
UNDER and in pursuance of the powers in me vested by the seventh section of "The Highways Act, 1874," I do hereby alter and amend the boundaries of the Maunu and Wangarei Highway Districts as hereunder set forth.

The Maunu Highway District.
Amended Boundaries.
Bounded towards the north by the southern boundaries of the Ruatangata, Mirowhakatiki and Maruarua blocks from the Wairua river to the south-eastern angle of the last-named block, thence by a right line to the westernmost angle of the Whau Whau block, and continuing along the southern boundary of the Whau Whau block aforesaid to its south-easternmost angle, thence by part of the southern boundary of the Whau block aforesaid and also by the southern and eastern boundaries of Dr. Perston’s land known as Ratu, to the mouth of the Waiarohia river; towards the east by the waters of Whangarei harbour from the mouth of the Waiarohia river aforesaid to the seaward termination of the southern boundary of the Maungatapere block; towards the south by the southern boundary of the Maungatapere block aforesaid and a right line to the Wairua river aforesaid: and towards the west by the Wairua river to the point of commencement.
The Wangarei Highway District.
Amended Boundaries.
Bounded towards the north by the centre of the Waitaua River from the north-western angle of the land known as Maldrum’s claim to its confluence with the Hatea river; towards the east by the centre of the Hatea river aforesaid to a line being the production in an easterly direction of the northern side of the upper landing-place; towards the south-east by said line by the northern side of the upper landing-place aforesaid and the northern side of the road leading from the upper landing-place aforesaid to the eastern side of the Mill road, thence crossing the road leading to the upper landing-place aforesaid and continuing along the eastern side of the Mill road aforesaid to a point opposite to the centre of the road leading through the late Mr. Gorrie’s property, thence crossing the Bay of Islands road and by the centre of the road leading through the property of the late Mr. Gorrie aforesaid to the centre of the road which forms the south-western boundary of the property of the late Mr. Gorrie aforesaid and by the centre of the said last-named road to the Waiarohia river, thence by the centre of the Waiarohia river aforesaid to a line being the production in an easterly direction of the northern boundary of Mr. Hunt’s land known as Wycombe, thence by said line and by part of the northern boundary of Mr. Hunt’s land aforesaid to the western boundary of said land, thence southerly by part of the western boundary of Mr. Hunt’s land aforesaid to the north-western boundary of Dr. Perston’s land known as Ratu, thence by the north-western boundary of Dr. Perston’s land aforesaid to the eastern boundary of the Whau Whau block, thence south-easterly by part of the eastern boundary of the Whau block aforesaid to the south-eastern angle of the Whau block aforesaid last-named and by part of the southern boundary of the Whau Whau block aforesaid to its southernmost angle; towards the south-west by the south-western boundary of the Whau Whau block aforesaid.
