PUBLIC NOTIFICATION
Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 7th April, 1876.
IT is hereby notified that the Offices of the Provincial Government will be closed during the period commencing on Friday, the 14th instant, and ending on Tuesday following, the 18th instant, both days inclusive, for the Easter Holidays.

PROCLAMATION.
By His Honour SIR GEORGE GREY,
Knight Commander of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath,
Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.
BY virtue of the powers in me vested under "The Protection of Animals Act, 1873," I hereby proclaim and declare that Pheasants shall be open to be hunted, shot, taken or killed, within the Province of Auckland, during the months of May, June and July, in the present year.
Given under my hand and the Public Seal of the Province, at Auckland, this 4th day of April 1876.

LICENSES to Kill and sell Game are now issuable at the Superintendent’s Office, Auckland.
To Kill Game ... 2 10 0
To Sell Game ... 5 0 0
The season for Killing Game extends over the months of May, June, and July.
Licenses to sell game are in force until the 7th of August.
No Shilling Licenses are issued under the new Act; but any person in bona fide occupation of any land, not being Waste Lands of the Crown (or some one person appointed by him) may kill Game on such land without a License.
Every person who shall sell, offer for sale, or expose for sale, and every holder of a License to sell Game, who shall have in his possession, or shall in any manner dispose of, any dead hen pheasants, shall, on conviction, forfeit and pay for every such act a sum not exceeding Twenty Pounds; and if such person hold a License to Kill or Sell Game, such License shall, on conviction, become ipso facto void.

HIS Honour the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has this day appointed
Bartholomew Lloyd O’Brien, Esq.,
to be Governor and Gaoler of the Auckland Gaol,
vice Captain R. A. Eyre, deceased.

IT is hereby notified that the Chairman of the Tauranga North Township District Board, under "The Highways Act, 1874," has reported in writing to the Superintendent the name of Mr. Peter Shaughnessy as having been duly elected a Member of that Board in the place of Mr. Michael Hannon, resigned.
