Gazette, to set apart from time to time suitable
blocks of first or second class lands, for occupation by
persons forming Special Settlements under Part V of
the said Act :
Now, therefore, pursuant to the authority vested
in me in that behalf, I, the Superintendent of the
Province of Auckland, do hereby proclaim and declare
that the southern and middle portions, containing
1,500 acres, of the Okaihau No. 2 Block, Parish of
Okaihau, County of Hokianga, as the same is deline-
ated on the plan of the block in the Waste Lands
Office, Auckland, shall be reserved and set apart as
provided for in the above recited Act as Special Set-
tlement Land.

Commander of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Superintendent of
the Province of Auckland.
Under and in pursuance of “The Registration
of Brands Act, 1871,” I do hereby constitute
and appoint the Arat Highway District (as the same is more particularly described in the Provincial Government Gazette, No. 24, dated 5th July, 1872,
page 206) to be a District for the purpose of the said
Act.

Order of the Bath, Superintendent of
the Province of Auckland.
Under and in pursuance of the powers in me
vested by the seventh section of “The High-
ways Act, 1874,” I do hereby alter and amend the
boundaries of the Tauranga and Coromandel
Highway Districts, as hereunder respectively set
forth.
Given under my hand at Auckland,
this ninth day of November, 1875.

The Tauranga Highway District.
Amended Boundaries.
Commencing at the mouth of the Wairoa River.
Bounded towards the north by high water mark of
the harbour of Tauranga; towards the east by high
water mark of the harbour of Tauranga aforesaid and
the centre of the Waimapu River which forms
the eastern boundary of the Parish of Te Papa, to
the south-eastern angle of said parish; towards the
south by the southern boundary of the Parish of Te
Papa aforesaid to the centre of the Mangapapa
River at its south-western angle; and towards the
west by the centre of the Mangapapa and Wairoa
rivers aforesaid which form the western boundary
of the Parish of Te Papa aforesaid to the harbour of
Tauranga first-mentioned the place of commencement.
Exclusive of all that portion of the Town of Tauranga,
situate to the north of the centre of the road which
forms the north-eastern boundary of allotments No.
506, 507, 509, 511, 514, and 517, of section, No. 2,
and blocks No. 29, and 30, of the Church Mission
Land.
The Coromandel Highway District.
Amended Boundaries.
Commencing at the source of Paul’s Creek on the
main range. Bounded towards the north-east
by the summit of the main range from the source of
Paul’s Creek aforesaid, to a point on the same,
being the intersection by a right line running
parallel to and at a distance of three chains from the
northern side of the road leading from Coromandel
to Whangapoua; towards the south-east by the
right line aforesaid, and by the same continued
south-westerly parallel to and at the distance of
three chains as above-mentioned, from the northern
side of the road leading from Coromandel to Whangapoua aforesaid to high water mark of Coromandel
harbour; towards the south-west by high water mark
of Coromandel harbour aforesaid to the mouth of the
Koputauaki Creek, and towards the north-west by
the Koputauaki and Paul’s Creeks aforesaid to the
source of the latter Creek on the main range first-
mentioned the place of commencement.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Commander of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Superintendent of
the Province of Auckland.
Under and in pursuance of the powers in me
vested by the seventh section of “The High-
ways Act, 1874,” I do hereby notify that, from and
after the date hereof, all that portion of the Province
of Auckland hereunder described shall be a District
under the said Act, and that such District shall be
known by the name of
The Te Puna Highway District.
Commencing at the mouth of the Aongatete
River; bounded towards the north and north-east
by high water mark of Tauranga Harbour to the
mouth of the Waitoa River; towards the east by the
centre of the Wairoa and Mangapapa Rivers and a
right line from the source of the last-named river,
bearing in a southerly direction to the Tauranga
Confiscation Boundary line; towards the south and
south-west by the confiscation boundary line last-
named to a point on the same, being the intersection
by a right line bearing in a south-westerly direction
from the source of the Kauritutaki River; and
towards the north-west by a right line from the
point on the confiscation boundary line last described
to the source of the Kauritutaki River aforesaid, and
thence by the centre of the Kauritutaki and the
Aongatete Rivers aforesaid to Tauranga Harbour
at the place of commencement. Exclusive of the
Township of Te Puna.
