PROCLAMATION.
By His Honour Sir George Grey, Knight
Commander of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Superintendent of
the Province of Auckland.
WHEREAS by the nineteenth section of "The Auckland Waste Lands Act, 1874," it is enacted that "Reserves for the uses of the Provincial Government and for other public purposes of a specific character may, upon the recommendation of the Provincial Council, be made by the Superintendent out of any waste lands, and shall not be alienated from the specific purposes to which they shall have been severally dedicated except under the provisions of "The Public Reserves Act, 1854;" and a full and complete description of every such reserve, and of the purposes to which it shall have been dedicated, shall forthwith be published in the Provincial Government Gazette, and shall also be set forth in the authenticated maps in the Land Office."
And WHEREAS by a letter dated the 16th April, 1875, addressed to the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, the Honourable the Colonial Secretary did promise that he would direct the preparation of a Crown Grant to the Superintendent of the land mentioned and described in the schedule hereunder, upon receipt of the Gazette notice formally reserving the same for purposes of public recreation:
And WHEREAS the Auckland Provincial Council, by resolution on the 27th May, 1875, did recommend the reservation of the said land "as a place for a public garden and for public recreation:"
Now THEREFORE, I do hereby, in pursuance of the nineteenth section of "The Auckland Waste Lands Act, 1874," above quoted, and upon the recommendation of the Auckland Provincial Council as aforesaid, reserve and dedicate the said land hereunder described to be a place for a public garden and for public recreation.
Given under my hand and the Public Seal of the said Province, at Auckland, this 28th day of June, 1875.

SCHEDULE.
All that piece or parcel of land situated in the Parish of Waitemata, County of Eden, containing five acres one rood and thirty-one perches, and being allotment No. 14 of section No. 36 of the Town of Onehunga, bounded towards the north-east by allotments Nos. 9, 10, and 11 of said section 669 links; towards the south-east by a road 100 links wide, 765 links; towards the south-west by a road of width aforesaid, 685 links; and towards the north-west by a line and by allotment No. 13 of said section 919 links, be the said measurements a little more or less.
