IT is hereby notified for general information that
CAPTAIN JAMES L. CHAPMAN
has been appointed Pilot of the Port of Mongonui under "The Marine Act, 1867," in the place of Captain William Butler, J.P., deceased.

HEREBY notify that the several Chairmen of the afternamed District Boards, under "The Highways Act, 1874," have reported in writing to the Deputy-Superintendent the names of the undermentioned persons duly appointed Officers and Members of those Boards respectively, to supply vacancies:
NEWCASTLE.—T. V. Fitzpatrick to be Chairman, vice Henry Byron, resigned.
PONSONBY AND OR DEDWOOD.—Alexander Black to be Member, vice Morton Jones, resigned.

APPLICATION having been made by the District Boards of the Districts hereunder mentioned for the appointment of the persons named by them to be the Engineers for those Districts respectively, I do hereby, under the authority given to the Superintendent in the seventy-fifth section of "The Highways Act, 1874," appoint the following gentlemen to be severally the Engineers of those Districts:
KARIOI.—Edward Frissell.
KAURIHOHORO.—William Bedlington.
KOMOKORIKI.—Thomas Chaplin.
MOUNT EDEN.—Albert Beetham.
ONE TREE HILL.—John Goodall.
OPOTIKI.—Loftus Richards.
PIRONGIA.—Edward Frissell.
TOWN OF ONEHUNGA.—John Goodall.
TURANGA.—William Trice.
WANGANUI.—William Bedlington.

NOTICE is hereby given that the whole of the claims which were advertised for hearing at Mangonui on the 23rd ultimo, and adjourned sine die, will be heard at the same place on the 29th of April next and following days, excepting the claim for Kauri Putete, which will be heard at Ohaeawai on the 12th of the same month.
