THE following Sections of “The Sheep Act, 1863,
Amendment Act, 1871,” are published for
general information.

From and after the passing of this Act, no sheep
in course of transmission from any place without the
Province of Auckland, shall be landed in any place
within the Province without the written permission
of the Inspector of Sheep for the District wherein
such lastmentioned place shall be situate, or of some
person duly appointed in writing in that behalf by
the Superintendent. -
Every person who shall, without the permission
hereinbefore required, land, or aid, or assist in any
way in landing any such sheep in the said Province,
shall for every such offence be liable to a penalty not
exceeding One Hundred Pounds. -
Every owner of any such sheep who shall land,
or permit, or suffer the same to be landed, before the
same shall have been submitted to such examination,
or before the charges payable under this Act shall
have been paid, shall in either of such cases be
deemed to have committed an offence against this
Act, and shall on conviction be liable to a penalty not
exceeding One Hundred Pounds.\n
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

HEREBY notify that the several Chairmen of
the after-named District Boards, under “The
Highways Act, 1871,” have reported in writing to
the Superintendent the names of the under-mentioned
persons duly appointed Members of those Boards
respectively, to supply vacancies:—
Ponsonby and or Newton:— James Morton,
and George William Jones, to be Mem-
bers, vice D. E. McDonald and F. Quick,
resigned.
Matakana East:— Jas. Matthew, to be Member,
vice T. Johnson, resigned.

MOUNT ROSKILL HIGHWAY DISTRICT.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
THE Owner or Reputed Owner, Lessee or Reputed
Lessee and Occupier of allotments number 79,
80, 81, 82, 83, and 84, of suburban farms.
Take Notice that the Maps, Specifications, and other
papers relating to a Road, which the Mount Roskill
District Highway Board propose to take over the above-
mentioned Allotments, are deposited for inspection at
Mr. F. G. Ewington’s office, Robertons’ Buildings,
Queen Street, Auckland. That the purpose of the
said Maps, Specifications, and other papers is to
define the site, admeasurement and mode of forming
the said Road, and that all persons affected by the
proposed Road are hereby called upon to set forth
in writing addressed to the Mount Roskill Highway
Board, within forty days from the publication hereof
in the Gazette, all objections which they may have
to the said Road.
