Now, therefore, I, John Williamson, Superintendent of the province of Auckland, pursuant to the authority vested in me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that for the purposes of the said "Auckland Municipal Police Act, 1866" (with the several amendments thereof), the limits of the Town of Russell, within the said Province, shall comprise all that part of the said Town, commencing from Mataui Bay, by Brind’s Road and Gould street, to the upper end of the Roman Catholic Burial Ground, thence by the cut survey line to Mr. Bateman’s fence, along which to the Flagstaff, and thence down the stream to the watering place, whence by the beach to the starting point at Mataui Bay.
Given under my hand, at Wellington, in the Province of Wellington, this twenty-second day of July, 1874.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is enacted by "The Weights and Measures Act, 1868," that it shall be lawful for the Governor, from time to time, to appoint one or more Inspectors of Weights and Measures for any Province, County, Borough, or District, or for each of two or more divisions of any Province, County, Borough, or District, the boundaries of which divisions shall be proclaimed from time to time in the New Zealand Gazette by the Governor; and the Governor may from time to time remove any such Inspector and appoint another in the room of any Inspector so removed, or who may die, resign, or discontinue his office: And whereas in exercise and pursuance of the power and authority conferred on him by the said Act, the Governor has at divers times, and by virtue of divers Proclamations published in the New Zealand Gazette, proclaimed and declared certain districts within the Province of Auckland to be districts within the meaning and for the purposes of the said Act; and has appointed Inspectors for the said districts: And whereas it is expedient to proclaim one district within the said Province for the purposes of the said Act, in lieu of the districts known as the Auckland, Otahuhu, Waikato, and Raglan Districts respectively:
