I HEREBY notify that the several Chairmen of
the after-named District Boards, under "The Highways Act, 1871," have reported in writing to
the Superintendent the names of the under-mentioned
persons, duly appointed Officers and Members of
those Boards respectively, to supply vacancies:—
WAITAKI:—Charles Stephens to be Member,
vice W. H. Hill, resigned; and Robert Neville to be Chairman, vice W. H. Hill,
resigned.
KAIPARA:—Martin Harsant to be Member, vice
Wm. Henry Wallis, resigned.
ALBERTLAND NORTH:—Evan Richards, senior,
to be Member, vice Thomas Wharfe,
resigned.
HAMILTON:—Alfred Cox, to be Member, vice
Samuel Steele, resigned.
WAIOTAHI:—William Rowe, to be Chairman,
vice William Davies, resigned; and George
Thomas, and Alfred Butler to be Members,

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

of the Province of Auckland.
UNDER and in pursuance of the powers in me
vested by the fourth section of "The Highways
Act, 1871," I do hereby alter and amend the several
boundaries of the WAIOTAHI and TARARU Highway
Districts, as the same are hereunder respectively set
forth.
Given under my hand at Auckland, this
25th day of April, 1874.

THE TARARU HIGHWAY DISTRICT.
Amended Boundaries.
Commencing on the Eastern Coast of the Frith
of the Thames at a point fifty chains or there-
abouts North of the mouth of the Tararu creek,
thence by a line bearing 90° or due East to a point
on Tararu creek, five chains or thereabouts North
of the mouth of Fiery creek; thence by the Northern
watershed of Fiery creek and Tinker’s gully to the
Look-out Rock, thence by a dividing range between
the Karaka block and Taramu block to the head of
the Opitomoko creek, thence by the Opitomoko
creek aforesaid to the North-Eastern boundary of
the Thames Municipality, and thence North-Westerly
by the Thames Municipality boundary to the place
of commencement.
THE WAIOTAHI HIGHWAY DISTRICT.
Amended Boundaries.
Bounded towards the North-West by the Opito-
moko stream and the South-Eastern boundary
of the Taramu block, from the North-Eastern boun-
dary of the Thames Municipality to Shortland Range;
towards the East by Shortland Range aforesaid for a
distance of about twenty-six chains to the boundary
at the Karaka stream; towards the South-East by
that boundary and by the Karaka stream aforesaid,
following its present course to the North-Eastern
boundary of the Thames Municipality aforesaid; and
towards the South-West by the North-Eastern boun-
dary of the Thames Municipality aforesaid to the
place of commencement.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

WHEREAS the Wangarei Highway District Board
have transmitted to me an Order, dated the
11th February, 1874, for the making of a road from
Wangarei to Maungataupari, within the said District,
together with true copies of the specifications, maps,
plans, sections and elevations for the making of the
said road, and together with the written objection
thereto: I do hereby, in pursuance of Section 33 of
"The Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871,"
give notice that on Monday, the 11th day of May,
1874, at eleven o’clock in the forenoon, at my Office,
at Auckland, I shall take into consideration the said
Order and the Objection made thereto.
Given under my hand, at Auckland, this
twenty-fifth day of April, 1874.

Delegation under "The Prisons Act, 1873," to
Superintendent of Auckland.

WHEREAS by the fifty-first section of "The
Prisons Act, 1873," it is enacted that the
Governor in Council may, under his hand and the
Public Seal of the Colony, from time to time delegate
to the Superintendent of any Province the powers
by the forty-seventh and fiftieth sections of the said
Act vested in the Governor, to be exercised within
such Province and not elsewhere, and may from time
to time in like manner rescind any such delegation:
Now therefore, I, Sir James Fergusson, Baronet, the
Governor of the said Colony, in pursuance and
exercise of the power and authority vested in me
by the said in part recited Act do hereby, with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, delegate
unto
John Williamson, Esq.,
as Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, all
the powers vested in me by the forty-seventh and
fiftieth sections of the said Act, to be exercised within
such Province and not elsewhere.
