PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent's Office,
Auckland, 28th October, 1873.

In pursuance of the 20th Section of "The Auckland Waste Lands Act, 1870," it is hereby notified, for general information, that application has been made to me by

Mr. James H. Pullen, of Rangiriri,

for permission to use, for mill driving purposes, the water flowing through allotment number 15 of the unsurveyed waste, felling, and removal of kauri and other timber and all underwood on and from the land aforesaid.

The Chairmen and Trustees of the various Highway Boards throughout the Province are hereby requested to aid and assist the Government, as far as possible, by actual prohibition and by communication to Government of the names of such offenders as may come under their notice, in the endeavour to suppress the unauthorised waste, felling, and removal of kauri and other timber and all underwood on the public lands of the said Province of Auckland. And further, that all persons so offending against these presents will be prosecuted under the provisions of "The Crown Lands Act, 1862," or in such other manner as may be deemed most effectual in this behalf.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

WHEREAS certain persons unknown have, without lawful authority, been cutting and felling kauri and other timber and underwood growing upon the Crown Lands of the Province of Auckland, and have also in like manner removed the same therefrom; and whereas it is desirable that such unauthorised cutting, felling, and removal, as aforesaid, should at once be restrained and all persons so offending punishedโ€”

It is now, therefore, hereby notified, for public information, that all persons are warned not to damage, cut, fell, or remove therefrom any timber or underwood of any kind whatsoever growing or standing upon lands belonging to Natives, the title to which lands has not been determined by the Native Lands Court; or upon lands for the purchase of which arrangements with the Native owners for the acquisition thereof have been entered into by the Government.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

The Public are warned Not to Cut, Fell, or Remove, or Contract in any way for the purchase, cutting, or removal of Kauri or other Timber or Underwood growing or standing upon lands belonging to Natives, the title to which lands has not been determined by the Native Land Court; or upon lands for the acquisition of which arrangements have been entered into by the Government.
