PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with the provisions of “The Highways Act, 1871,” that certified copies of the Assessment Lists for the Titirangi, Waikomiti, and Hikurangi Highway Districts respectively, have been forwarded to this Office.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Auckland, 1st February, 1873.
IT IS HEREBY notified that the Board of Education, under “The Education Act, 1872,” have constituted the Districts hereinafter described, to be Educational Districts under the said Act, and have appointed times and places of meetings for the election of District School Committees for the said Educational Districts respectively, as hereunder set forth.

The Auckland West No. 1 Educational District.
Bounded on the North by the Waitemata Harbour, towards the East by Hobson-street, towards the South by part of Wellington-street, and towards the West by Union-street to the Waitemata Harbour, and by the Waitemata Harbour aforesaid to the place of commencement.
Meeting for the election of District School Committee to be held at the Carlton Academy, Hobson-street, Auckland, on Thursday, the 6th February, 1873, at 7.30 p.m.
The Auckland West No. 2 Educational District.
Bounded towards the North by the Waitemata Harbour, towards the North-East and East by Union-street part of Wellington-street and Pitt-street to its junction with the Karangahape Road, towards the South by the Karangahape Road, and by the Ponsonby Road to its junction with Franklin-street, towards the North-West by Franklin-street to Waitemata Harbour, and thence to the place of commencement.
Meeting for the election of District School Committee to be held at the Catholic Institute, Wellington-street, Auckland, on Friday, the 7th February, 1873, at 7.30 p.m.
The Auckland East Educational District.
Comprising all that portion of the City of Auckland lying to the East of Hobson-street and Pitt-street.
Meeting for the election of District School Committee to be held at the Mechanics’ Institute, Auckland, on Monday, the 10th February, 1873, at 7.30 p.m.
The Parnell Educational District.
Comprising all those lands situate within the boundaries of the Parnell Highway District as proclaimed in the Provincial Government Gazette, No. 12, dated the 21st April, 1871.
Meeting for the election of District School Committee to be held at the Parnell Public Hall, on the Manakau Road, on Tuesday, the 11th February, 1873, at 7.30 p.m.
The Dedwood Educational District.
Comprising all those lands situate within the boundaries of the Dedwood Highway District as proclaimed in the Provincial Government Gazette, No. 43, dated the 24th August, 1868.
Meeting for the election of District School Committee to be held at the Spring Villa School House, (Mr. Addey’s), Ponsonby Road, on Tuesday, the 18th February, 1873, at 7.30 p.m.
The Devonport Educational District.
Comprising all those lands situate within the boundaries of the Devonport Highway District as proclaimed in the Provincial Government Gazette, No. 26, dated the 14th July, 1866.
Meeting for the election of District School Committee to be held at the District School House, North Shore, on Friday, the 7th February, 1873, at 7 p.m.
The Newton Educational District.
Commencing at the junction of the Karangahape Road and Symonds-street, thence by Symonds-street to Section 34 of the City, thence by the Northern and Eastern boundaries of the Grafton Road Highway District to the Stockade Road, thence by the Stockade Road aforesaid and the Mount Eden Road to the Northern boundary of allotment No. 3 of Section No. 10 of the Suburbs, thence by said boundary and the Northern boundary of allotment No. 10 of said Section to the road which forms the Western boundary of said allotment No. 10, thence Northerly by said road to its junction with the road which forms the Southern boundary of Section No. 5 of said Suburbs, thence South-Westerly by said road to the road which forms the Western boundary of said Section No. 5, thence by said road to the old Great North Road, and by said Great North Road and the Karangahape Road aforesaid to the place of commencement.
Meeting for the election of District School Committee to be held at St. David’s School Room, Symonds-street, Auckland, on Wednesday, the 12th February, 1873, at 7.30 p.m.
The Mount Hobson Educational District.
Commencing at the Parnell Grammar School, thence following the Northern and Eastern boundaries of the Remuera Highway District to the Harp of Erin Hotel, thence Westerly by the Great South Road to the Ellerslie Road, thence by the last named road to the Prince Alfred Hotel, thence by the road past the Prince Alfred Hotel aforesaid to the North Eastern boundary of allotment No. 63 of Section No. 10, of the Suburbs, thence by said North-Eastern boundary to the Road forming the Western boundary of said allotment No. 63, thence by the road which forms the Western boundary of allotment No. 64 of said Section No. 10 and by said road continued to the North-Western angle of allotment No. 19 of said section No. 10, thence by the road which forms the Southern boundaries of allotments Nos. 60, 61, 62, and 41 of Section No. 6 of said Suburbs, thence by the Western boundary of said allotment No. 41, by the Northern boundary of allotment No. 38 of said Section to the Mount Eden Reserve, thence by the Eastern boundary of said Reserve to the Western angle of allotment No. 94, of said Section No. 6, thence by the road which forms the Western boundary of allotment No. 94 and by said road continued to the North-Western boundary.
