I DO HEREBY notify that I have accepted the resignation by
John Sheehan, Esq.,
of the office of Goldfields Secretary for this Province, and that I have this day appointed
William John Hurst, Esq.,
to be Goldfields Secretary in his stead.

15 years’ lease of 3 acres 1 rood and 4 perches; situated on the Moanataiari Creek, and bounded Northerly by “Little Angel” lease, Easterly by “Virginia City” lease, Southerly by “Durham Ox” lease, Westerly by “Windsor Castle” lease; lease dated 30th May, 1870.
The Sir Walter Scott Gold Mining and Quartz Crushing Company Limited: 15 years’ lease of 15 acres and 3 roods; situated on the Lucky Hit Creek, and bounded Northerly by late “Conqueror” lease, Southerly by the late “Commercial” lease, and on all other sides by supposed unoccupied ground; lease dated 6th December, 1871.

I hereby notify that re-entry has been made by the Lessor upon the ground demised by the Surveyor within the Province of Auckland Mining Leases hereunder named, and the Lessees’ estate therein respectively determined, and that the land therein mentioned will be open for occupation under sections 53, 54, and 55 of “The Gold Mining Districts Act, 1871.”
