BY-LAW No. 11.
A BY-LAW to Prevent Cattle Straying within the City.
BY-LAW of the Council of the City of Auckland made under Special Order of the said Council dated the 28th day of October, 1872, confirmed the 2nd day of December, 1872, and sealed with the Common Seal of the Council of the said City the 2nd day of December, 1872.
In pursuance of the Municipal Corporations Act 1867 Part XIII. Section 186 the City Council of Auckland ordains as follows; that is to say:—
Whereas injuries have happened and may hereafter happen to persons and property by the straying of cattle within the City and it is desirable that provision should be made to prevent a continuation of such injuries. Subject to and without prejudice to any law or regulation in force respecting any of the classes of animals under the head of cattle.
It shall not be lawful for any person to keep or depasture any cattle within the limits of the City except within an enclosure.
