PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IT is hereby notified that a Writ, issued on the 12th instant, for the election of a member of the Provincial Council for the Electoral District of The Pensioner Settlements; has been returned to this Office, with a certificate endorsed thereon by the Returning Officer, to the effect that William Kelly of Tauranga, Freeholder, has been duly elected.

Parish of Tauhoa, County of Marsden, 200 acres adjoining lots 150, 151, and 161 Oruawhero.

Parish of Aotea, Queen’s County, 400 acres adjoining DuMoulin’s Claim, at Great Barrier Island.

At the upset price of ten shillings per acre.

Application for any of the lands set forth above, to be made in writing, and deposited in the Waste Lands Office, Auckland, before the 24th December, 1872.

B. Tonks & Co., Queen-street, Auckland, on Tuesday, the 24th instant, at twelve o’clock noon.

  1. The Fees leviable at the Public Slaughterhouse, Newmarket.

  2. The Tolls leviable at the Panmure Bridge.

  3. The Tolls leviable at the Newmarket Turnpike Gate, and at the Remuera and Mount Eden Road (East) Chain Bars; together with the Fees chargeable at the Newmarket Weighbridge.

  4. The Tolls leviable at the Otahuhu and Slippery Creek Turnpike Gates, Great South Road.

  5. The Tolls leviable at the Newton Toll Gate on the Great North Road, at its junction with the Ponsonby Road.

  6. The Tolls leviable at the Mount Eden Road Toll Gate (next the Eden Vine Hotel), and at the Gaol Road Chain Bar; together with the Royalty leviable for Scoria Ash taken from the Gravel Pits on the Mount Eden Reserve.

  7. The Tolls leviable at the New North Road Toll Gate (next the Eden Vine Hotel).

  8. The Fees chargeable for the Supply of Water to the Shipping.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in me by the fourth section of “The Highways Act, 1871,” I do hereby alter and amend the boundaries of the Pokeno Highway District, as hereunder set forth.

THE POKENO HIGHWAY DISTRICT.

Amended Boundaries.

Commencing at the north-eastern angle of allotment No. 102, of the Parish of Maungatawhiri; bounded towards the north-east by the north-eastern boundary of allotment No. 102, of the Parish of Maungatawhiri aforesaid, and by said boundary produced to the centre of the road which forms the southern boundary of said lot; thence southerly by the centre of said road and by the centre of the road which forms the north-eastern boundary of allotments Nos. 7 and 5 to the centre of the road which forms the north-western boundary of allotment No. 106 of the Parish of Maungatawhiri aforesaid; thence north-easterly by the centre of said road to the Porourioa stream, and by that stream to the western margin of the Mangamata Lake; thence by the western margin of the Mangamata Lake aforesaid to the Mangamata outlet, and by the outlet last-named to the Maungatawhiri River; towards the north-west by the Maungatawhiri River aforesaid in an easterly direction to the centre of the road which forms the south-eastern boundaries of allotments Nos. 115, 117, and 124, of the Parish of Maungatawhiri aforesaid, and part of the south-eastern boundary of allotment No. 1 of the Parish of Otau, and by the centre of said road continued to a line being the production in a southerly direction of the line which forms the eastern boundary of allotment No. 1 of the Parish of Otau aforesaid; thence by said line to the Maungatawhiri River aforesaid; thence northerly by the Maungatawhiri River aforesaid to the north-eastern boundary of allotment No. 34 of the Parish of Koheroa; again towards the north-east by the north-eastern boundary allotment 34 of the Parish of Koheroa aforesaid, and by said boundary produced in a south-easterly direction to the centre of the road which forms the southern boundary of allotment No. 36, also of the Parish of Koheroa.
