PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Auckland, 28th May, 1872.
In pursuance of the 20th section of “The Auckland Waste Lands Act, 1870,” it is hereby notified for general information that application has been made to me by
Mr. Samuel Jno. De Carteret
for permission to construct a Dam across the Papakura River on lot 21 of the parish of Papakura, together with the necessary Water-right.

HEREBY notify that in pursuance of the seventh section of “The Highways Act, 1871, Amendment Act, 1871,” I have appointed
Mr. John Martin Cleary
to be an Auditor for the Mount Wellington Highway District, in the place and stead of Mr. Vilou.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in the Superintendent by “The Auckland Waste Lands Act, 1867,” I hereby notify, for public information, that all those pieces or parcels of land in the Township of Gisborne, situate at Turanganui, Poverty Bay, advertised for sale by notification in the Provincial Government Gazette, No. 21, dated the 12th June, 1872, will be offered for sale by public auction by the Provincial Secretary, at the Courthouse, Gisborne, on Wednesday, the 21st August, 1872, at 12 o’clock noon.
Given under my hand at Auckland, this sixteenth day of July, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in the Superintendent by the fourth section of “The Highways Act, 1871,” I do hereby notify that, from and after the date hereof, all that portion of the Province of Auckland hereunder described shall be a District under the said Act, and that such District shall be known by the name of
THE TARARU HIGHWAY DISTRICT.
Bounded towards the north-east by a right line from the north-eastern angle of the Flora McDonald battery site to the source of the Opotomiko creek; towards the south-east by the centre of the Opotomiko creek aforesaid, from its source to high water-mark of the Hauraki gulf; towards the south-west by high water-mark of the sea in the Hauraki gulf aforesaid to the mouth of the Tararu creek; and towards the north-west by the centre of the Tararu.
