opening into the Rama Rama Settlement afore-
said, and delineated and colored red on the Offi-
cail Plan of the district in the Waste Lands Office.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Auckland, 27th March, 1871.

IN pursuance of the 29th Section of “The Gold-
fields Act, 1866,” and of the Regulations made
under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold
Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is in-
tended to grant a Lease for Gold Mining purposes to
the Applicant specified in the Schedule hereunder,
unless valid objections can be shown against granting
such Lease.

Copy of the Application made, and Plan annexed,
may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Grahamstown.

SCHEDULE.

The Bass Rock Gold Mining Company, Limited;
applied for by Alexander Beveridge; 15 years’
lease of 10 acres more or less, quartz, situated
in the Waiotahi Creek, Thames Goldfield,
bounded by the “Bachelors,” “Beehive,”
“Gladstone” and “Ballarat and Rising Sun”
Claims, Karaka; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 11.5 a.m., 23rd
March, 1871. R.B. 835.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IN pursuance of the fifth clause of “The Highways
Act, 1871,” I do hereby bring the said Act into
operation within the

Hikurangi Highway District,

and I do appoint the first meeting of Ratepayers to
take place at the residence of Mr. Carter Junr.,
Hikurangi, on Monday, the 17th day of April next,
at two o’clock in the afternoon, and Richard Sissons,
Esq., of Hikurangi, to be Chairman of such meeting.

Given under my hand at Auckland, this
thirtieth day of March, One thousand
eight hundred and seventy-one.

Act, 1866,” and of the Regulations made under
that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining
purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to
grant a Lease for Gold Mining purposes to the Appli-
cants specified in the Schedule hereunder, unless valid
objections can be shown against granting such Lease.

Frederick Woolams on behalf of himself, John Reid,
Thomas Oliver and Charles Ring; 15 years’
lease of 8 acres of quartz mining land on the top
of Tokatea Range, Coromandel; bounded in a
southerly direction by the Tokatea Company’s
leasehold, on the north and west by unoccupied
ground, on the West the Claims “Peep o’
Day” and “Day Dawn” are near at hand;
partly held under miners’ rights; with right of
way to terminus of Tramway, and right to dis-
charge mullock on adjoining land, now unoccu-
pied; application received in Warden’s Office,
Coromandel, at 1:10 p.m., 22nd March, 1871.
