ALFRED F. WATKINS; 15 years’ lease of 16 acres, Tararu; bounded on the North by the South end of the ground known as the “Nightingale” Claim, and on all other sides by unoccupied ground; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 10.4 a.m., 11th February, 1871, (R.B. 822).

THOMAS HAWTHORN; 15 years’ lease of 16 acres quartz reef, Tararu; bounded on the South by the “Scandinavian” Claim, and on all other sides by unoccupied ground; known as the “Hawthorn” Claim; not held under miners’ right; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 10.30 a.m. 13th February, 1871, (R.B. 823).

GEORGE THOMS; 15 years’ lease of 4 acres quartz reef; bounded by the “Morning Star,” “Otago,” “Golden Calf” and “Redan” Claims, Moanataiari Creek, Karaka Block; known as the “Just in Time” Claim; held under miners’ right; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 2 p.m., 14th February, 1871, (R.B. 824).

IT is hereby notified that the Mining Lease set forth in the Schedule hereunder has been surrendered, and that the land therein mentioned is now open for occupation.

Plan may be seen at the Engineer’s Office at Grahamstown.

THE Flora McDonald Gold Mining Company, Registered; 15 years’ lease of 14 acres 1 rood 33 perches, including machine site 1 rood 34 perches, situated near the Tararu Creek; bounded by the “Giant’s Causeway” and “Prince Charlie” Claims; lease dated 11th January, 1870: surrendered 13th February, 1871.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IT is hereby notified that, in pursuance of subsection 3 of section 35 of the Regulations for the granting of Mining Leases, re-entry has been made by the Lessor upon the ground demised by the Leases hereunder described, and the Lessees’ estate therein determined, and that the lands therein mentioned are now open for occupation.

Plans may be seen at the Engineer’s Office, Grahamstown.

THE Confidence Gold Mining Company, Registered; 15 years’ lease of 7 acres 22 perches, 21 men’s ground, adjoining the “Pride of the Ranges” Claim; lease dated 23rd May, 1870.

THE Great Victoria and Black Angel Gold Mining Company, Registered; 15 years’ lease of 2 acres 1 rood 35 perches, 7 men’s ground; bounded by the “Great Extended,” “True Briton,” “Golden Harp” and “Day-spring” Claims; lease dated 31st May, 1870.

THE Golden Turret Gold Mining Company, Registered; 15 years’ lease of 7 acres 2 roods 29 perches, 22 men’s ground; bounded by the “Colonial Hope,” “Una” and “Circular Saw” Companies’ Claims; lease dated 5th February, 1870.

THE Star of Fermanagh Gold Mining Company, Registered; 15 years’ lease of 2 acres 3 roods 36 perches, 8 men’s ground, Alabama Creek, adjoining the “Wellington” and “Roaring Meg” Claims; lease dated 7th April, 1870.

THE Star of Fermanagh Gold Mining Company, Registered; 15 years’ lease of 5 acres 3 roods, 1 perch, 17 men’s ground; adjoining the “Star of Fermanagh No. 1,” “Golden Run,” “Merry England” and “Silver Cloud” Claims, Karaka; lease dated 14th April, 1870.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers in me vested in that behalf by “The Impounding Act, 1867,” I do hereby abolish, as a Public Pound, those premises situate at the North Shore, known as Allotment No. 1, in the Township of North Cheltenham, at the North Shore, as notified in the Provincial Government Gazette No. 17, of date the 17th April, 1867; and I do hereby appoint in lieu thereof, those premises situate at the North Shore, within the boundaries of the Devonport Highway District, known as the Sale Yards of Messrs. Holmes Bros., to be, and be used as a Public Pound, for the purposes of the said recited Act.

Given under my hand at Auckland, this eighteenth day of February, in the year of our Lord, One thousand eight hundred and seventy.
