I HEREBY notify that the several Chairmen of the after-named District Boards under “The Highways Act, 1871,” have reported in writing to the Superintendent the names of the undermentioned persons duly appointed Members of those Boards to supply vacancies:—

  • RUARANGI—John Solon, vice Jones Roantree, resigned.
  • KOMOKORIKI—Isaac Glenn, vice James Pettigrew, resigned.
  • MANGAWAI—Charles Eyre, vice H. Shepherd.

NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with the provisions of “The Highways Act, 1871,” that certified copies of the Assessment Lists for the WHAREHINE and KAUKAPAKAPA,
Highway Districts respectively, have been forwarded to this Office.

BYE-LAW (No. 5).

A BYE-LAW TO PAVE SHORTLAND STREET, ETC.

Bye-law of the Council of the City of Auckland, made under Special Order of the said Council, dated the 23rd day of October, 1871, confirmed the 20th day of November, 1871, and sealed with the Common Seal of the Council of the said City the 21st day of November, 1871.

IN pursuance of Section 186, of Part XIII., and Section 269, of Part XVII., of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867,” the Council of the City of Auckland ordain as follows; that is to say—

The Bye-law passed by the Council, and intituled “A Bye-law to Pave Queen street within certain limits,” shall apply to the footpaths of the following streets, namely:—The footpath in Shortland street, on both sides from Queen street to Bank street, and the footpaths in West Queen street, Wyndham street and Victoria street, on both sides from Queen street to Albert street, and the said Bye-law shall be read as if these streets had been therein specifically and originally named and described.

I, THE undersigned, ARTHUR PITTAR, hereby make application to register “The Working Miners’ Gold Mining Company Registered,” under the provisions of the “Mining Companies’ Limited Liability Act, 1865,” and the “Mining Companies’ Limited Liability Act Amendment Acts, 1869,” and I do solemnly and sincerely declare that the following statement is, to the best of my belief and knowledge, true in every particular, namely:—

  1. The name and style of the Company is The Working Miners Gold Mining Company, Registered.
  2. The place of operations is at the Tokatea Range, Coromandel Goldfields, in the Province of in the Colony of New Zealand.
  3. The nominal capital of the Company is Ten thousand pounds, in Ten thousand shares of One pound each.
  4. The amount already paid up in cash is Nil.
  5. The name of the Manager is ARTHUR PITTAR.
  6. The Office of the Company is at the Beach, Road, Coromandel.
  7. The names and several residences of the Shareholders, and the number of Shares held by each at this date are as follows, namely:—

I, THE undersigned, ROBERT HUMPHREY STEVENSON, son, hereby make application to register “The Hazlebank Quartz Mining Company Registered,” under the provisions of “The Mining Companies’ Limited Liability Act, 1865,” and I do solemnly and sincerely declare that the following statement is, to the best of my belief and knowledge, true in every particular, namely:—

  1. The name and style of the Company is The Hazlebank Quartz Mining Company, Registered.
  2. The place of operations is at the Moanataiari Creek, at the Thames Goldfield, in the Province of Auckland, in the colony of New Zealand.
  3. The nominal capital of the Company is Fifty-five thousand pounds, in Five thousand five hundred shares of Ten pounds each.
  4. The amount already paid up in cash is Nil, and the amount allotted in partly paid up shares is Thirty-three thousand pounds.
  5. The name of the Manager is ROBERT HUMPHREY STEVENSON.
  6. The Office of the Company is at the New Zealand Insurance Buildings, Queen street, Auckland.
