Hugh McDonald, 15 years’ lease of 16 acres, quartz mining land on Peter’s Block, east of Court-house, Coromandel, bounded on south by Moore’s lease on other sides by unoccupied ground; not held under Miners’ Rights; application received in Warden’s Office, Coromandel, at 1:28 p.m., on the 20th November, 1871.

Thomas Douglas, of Coromandel; 15 years’ lease of 16 acres, bounded on the north by the lease applied for by Moore and party, and situated on the upper part of the Court-house Creek; bounded on other sides by unoccupied ground, not held under Miners’ Rights; application received in Warden’s Office, Coromandel, at 11:50 a.m., 21st November, 1871.

I DO hereby notify that the Lake District Board has, with my approval, appointed Mr. Donald McKay, to be the Keeper of the Public Pound at the Lake, in the room of Mr. James Sheriff, resigned. And I do hereby further notify that the fees and charges set forth in the Schedule annexed to the notification of the appointment of the said James Sheriff, published in the Provincial Government Gazette, No. 34, dated 14th October, 1871, page 267, may be taken and charged by the said Keeper.

UNDER and pursuance of the powers in me vested by "The Impounding Act, 1867," I do hereby abolish as a Public Pound those premises situated within the boundaries of the Lake Highway District, being allotment No. 89, in the Parish of Takapuna, as notified in the Provincial Government Gazette, No. 34, of date the 14th October, 1871: and I do hereby appoint in lieu thereof those premises situate within the boundaries of the said Lake Highway District, being allotment No. 75, in the said Parish of Takapuna, to be and be used as a Public Pound for the purposes of the said recited Act.

Given under my hand at Auckland, this twenty-first day of November, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.
