HAURAKI GOLDFIELD.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

In pursuance of the 29th section of "The Goldfields Act, 1866," and of the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant Leases for Gold Mining purposes to the applicants specified in the Schedule hereunder, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Leases.

Copies of the applications made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Grahamstown.

SCHEDULE.

ALEXANDER BEVERIDGE of Grahamstown, Mining Agent; 15 years’ lease of 15 acres, or thereabouts—bounded on the East by the "Vulcan" and "Cyclops;" and on all other sides by unoccupied ground, Upper Tararu—lately known as the "Southsea Castle" Claim; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 1:45 p.m., 5th September, 1871—R.B. 955.

JAMES MITCHELL and EDWIN NINNIS, of Grahamstown, Miners; 15 years’ lease of 6 acres, more or less; surplus ground bounded towards the North-east by the "Crown Prince" and "Smiling Beauty" Claims; towards the South-east by a line being the production of the South-eastern boundary of the "Smiling Beauty" Claim; towards the South-west by the Hauraki Gulf; and towards the North-west by unoccupied ground; known as the "Smile Again" Claim; held under Miners’ Rights; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 10 a.m. on the 13th September, 1871—R.B. 956.

The Golden Spur Gold Mining Company, to be Registered, applied for by Thomas Horsbrugh; 15 years’ lease of 13 acres on the Te Papa Gully, Hape Creek, adjoining "Tweedside" Company’s ground, Karaka Block; ground known as the "Red Rover" and "Golden Spur" claims and unoccupied ground; held under Miners’ Rights; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 11:30 a.m. on the 14th September, 1871—R.B. 957.

The Golden Anchor Gold Mining Company, to be Registered, applied for by Robert Vincent and Henry George Collett; 15 years’ lease of 8 acres, more or less, of auriferous Quartz Reef; bounded on the west by "Flag Ship" claim, on the south and east by unoccupied ground, and on the north by "Pretty Nelly" claim; known as the "Golden Anchor No. 2," and unoccupied ground; partly held under Miners’ Rights; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 10:45 a.m. on the 15th September, 1871—R.B. 958.
