NOTICE is hereby given, in accordance with the provisions of "The Highways Act, 1871," that certified copies of the Assessment Lists for the WAIUKU, MAUNGATAWHIRI, LAKE, KAUAERANGA, WEITI, WAINUI, MANGAWAI, OTAHUHU, MOUNT EDEN, RUARANGI, POKENO, PARAWAI, PAPAKURA, REMUERA, WANGAREI, WHAU, and ALBERTLAND NORTH Highway Districts respectively have been forwarded to this Office.

THE names of the undermentioned persons, appointed Collectors of Rates for the Highway Districts set opposite their respective names, have been reported to this Office :-

LAKE—Thomas William Seaman.

MAUNGAKARAMEA—John James, of Auckland.

PARAWAI—Edward Lambert.

NEWCASTLE—Richard Cartwright junr.

HOWICK TOWNSHIP—Thomas Garrett, of Howick.

I, THE undersigned JOHN BRAME, hereby make application to register "PRIDE OF THE HILL GOLD MINING COMPANY REGISTERED," under "The Mining Companies’ Limited Liability Act, 1865," and "The Mining Companies’ Limited Liability Acts Amendment Acts, 1869, and 1870," and I do solemnly and sincerely declare that the following statement is, to the best of my belief and knowledge, true in every particular, namely :-

  1. The name and style of the Company is Pride of the Hill Gold Mining Company Registered.

  2. The place of operations is at Coromandel, at the Thames Goldfield, in the Province of Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand.

  3. The nominal capital of the Company is Twenty thousand pounds, in Ten thousand shares of Two pounds each.

  4. The amount already paid-up is Nil.

  5. The name of the Manager is JOHN BRAME.

  6. The office of the Company is at Auckland.

  7. The names and several residences of the shareholders, and the number of shares held by each at this date, are as follows, namely :-

  1. The name and style of the Company is The Harbor View Gold Mining Company, Registered.

  2. The place of operations is at the Kuranui Spur, at the Thames Goldfield, in the Province of Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand.

  3. The nominal capital of the Company is Ten thousand pounds in Four thousand shares of Two pounds ten shillings each.

  4. The amount already paid up is Nil; and in partly paid-up, Two pounds.

  5. The name of the Manager is CHARLES FLETCHER.

  6. The office of the Company is at Albert-street, Grahamstown.
