PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 26th January, 1871.

IT is hereby notified that the Application for a Mining Lease by Charles Tothill on behalf of the “Long Drive” Gold Mining Company, Registered, (R.B. 799), notified as withdrawn in Gazette No. 55, of 17th December, 1870, has not been withdrawn; but that the Application described in the Schedule hereunder has been withdrawn.

The Long Drive Gold Mining Company, Registered,
applied for by Charles Tothill; 15 years’ lease of 2 acres 2 roods 19 perches; bounded by the “Kuranui,” “Shotover,” “Junction,” “Poverty and Charleston” and “Fourth of July” Claims, Karaka Block; Claim held under Miners’ Rights; application R.B. 785; withdrawn 3rd December, 1870.


PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Auckland, 7th February, 1871.

IT is hereby notified that the Mining Lease set forth in the Schedule hereunder has been surrendered, and that the land therein mentioned is now open for occupation.

Plans may be seen at the Engineer’s Office, Grahamstown.

Edward Henry Power, 15 years’ lease of 9 acres, 2 roods, 36 perches; 28 men’s ground; bounded by the “Head Centre” and “Perseverance No. 1” Claims; lease dated 8th June, 1870, surrendered 25th January, 1871.


PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IT is hereby notified that, in pursuance of subsection 3 of section 35 of the regulations for the granting of mining leases, re-entry has been made by the lessor upon the ground demised by the leases hereunder described, and the lessees’ estate therein determined, and that the lands therein mentioned are now open for occupation.

Plans may be seen at the Engineer’s Office, Grahamstown.

The Contraband Gold Mining Company, Registered;
15 years’ lease of 8 acres, 2 roods, 26 perches; 11 men’s ground; adjoining the “Prosperity,” “Lone Star No. 1” and “Lone Star No. 2” Claims, Karaka Creek; lease dated 9th May, 1870.

The Democrat Gold Mining Company, Registered;
15 years’ lease of 7 acres, 1 rood, 6 perches; 21 men’s ground; adjoining the “Aristocrat” and “Rose of Karaka” Claims, Karaka Creek; lease dated 19th March, 1870.

The Ebenezer Gold Mining Company, Registered;
15 years’ lease of 1 acre, 3 roods, 21 perches; 5 men’s ground; bounded by the “Star of Ohunga,” “Hokianga,” “Karaka” and “One and All” Claims, Karaka Creek; lease dated 27th July, 1870.

Captain James Stone, for the Moanatairi Gold Mining Company, Registered;
15 years’ lease of about 2 acres; Quartz reef; bounded on the South-east by “Hand-in-Hand No. 2,” East by “West Coast,” West by “Crown” and “Waitemata,” North by “Moanatairi” Lease, Karaka Block; application dated 29th November, 1870, R.B. 803.

The Golden Crown Extended Gold Mining Company, Registered;
15 years’ lease of 7 acres, 13 perches; 21 men’s ground; situated on Waiotahi Creek; bounding the “Star of Fortune” Claim and adjoining the “Sailor Prince” Claim; lease dated 5th February, 1870.

The Great Exhibition Gold Mining Company, Registered;
15 years’ lease of 5 acres, 3 roods, 33 perches; 17 men’s ground; adjoining the [remainder unclear].
