HAURAKI GOLDFIELD.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IN pursuance of the 29th section of “The Goldfields Act, 1866,” and of the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant Leases for Gold Mining purposes to the applicants specified in the Schedule hereunder, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Leases.

Copies of the applications made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Grahamstown.

SCHEDULE.

EDWARD THOMAS WILDMAN, of Grahamstown, Sharebroker: 15 years’ lease of 16 acres, auriferous land; bounded on the north-east by the “Pukehinau” Gold Mining Company’s Lease, and the “Harbour View” Claim; on the south by the ground held by the “Pride of Moanataiari” and “Just in Time” Gold Mining Companies; on the south-west by the “Kentucky” ground, and on the north-west by abandoned ground; including “Royal Oak” Claim; held under Miners’ Rights, the remaining ground being abandoned ground; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 10’45 a.m., 14th August, 1871 —R.B. 945.

GEORGE PHILIP HILTON, of Grahamstown, Sharebroker: 15 years’ lease of 16½ acres, adjoining the “Cremorne” on the north, the Karaka Creek and Mackay-street on the west, and Richmond-street on the south and east, Karaka Block; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 1’30 p.m., 16th August, 1871 —R.B. 946.

THE Standard Gold Mining Company: applied for by Wm. Carpenter for shareholders in “Standard” Gold Mining Company; 15 years’ lease of 12 acres, more or less, auriferous quartz land, situated on Murphy’s Hill, Karaka Block, and bounded on the north by the “Crystal Palace” Claim, on the east by the “Yorkshire” Claim, on the south by the claim of the “Mount Pleasant” Gold Mining Company, and on the west by that of the “Una” Gold Mining Company; not held under Miners’ Rights. Easement required—permission to tunnel through adjoining claims; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 12’25 p.m., 17th August, 1871 —R.B. 947.

GEORGE BENNETT, of Auckland, Mining Agent: applied for by Charles Wilson; 15 years’ lease of 16 acres, situated on Murphy’s Hill, and bounded on the east by the “Royal Standard” Claim, north-east by “South Devon,” south-east by “Mount Pleasant” and the “Ashley,” south by the Hape Creek, west by unoccupied ground; known as the “Ko-hi-noor Claim”; not held under Miners’ Rights; machinery site required; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 11’20 a.m., 18th August, 1871 —R.B. 948.
