UNDER and in pursuance of the powers in me vested by the fourth section of "The Highways Act, 1871," I do hereby alter and amend the boundaries of the Hamilton Highway District, as hereunder set forth.
Given under my hand at Auckland this twenty-fourth day of July, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.

THE HAMILTON HIGHWAY DISTRICT.
AMENDED BOUNDARIES.
Bounded towards the north-east by the centre of the Waikato river; towards the south-east by the north-western boundary of the Pukekura Highway district; towards the south by part of the northern boundary of the Rangiaohia Highway District, and parts of the eastern and northern boundaries of the Mangapiko Highway District; towards the west by parts of the eastern boundaries of the Mangapiko and Newcastle Highway Districts, and towards the south-west and north-west by part of the north-eastern boundary and south-eastern boundary of the Newcastle Highway District aforesaid to the Waikato river, the place of commencement, exclusive of the township of Hamilton west.

BY virtue of the powers in me vested by "The Highways Act, 1871," I do hereby notify that all that portion of the Province of Auckland hereunder described shall be a district under the said Act, and that such district shall be known by the name prefixed thereto, that is to say—
THE HAMILTON WEST TOWNSHIP HIGHWAY DISTRICT.
Bounded towards the north-east by the Waikato river from a stream which forms the south-eastern boundary of allotment No. 242 of the parish of Pukete to the north-eastern angle of allotment No. 24 of the parish of Te Rapa; towards the south-east by allotment No. 24 of the parish of Te Rapa aforesaid, and by allotments Nos. 25 and 26 of same parish from the north-eastern angle of allotment No. 24 to the north-western angle of allotment No. 26; towards the south and south-west by the boundary of the Town Belt from the north-western angle of allotment No. 26 last-named to the south-eastern angle of allotment No. 1, also of the parish of Te Rapa; thence by allotment No. 1 last-mentioned, and by allotment No. 2 of the parish of Te Rapa aforesaid to a stream at the south-eastern angle of allotment No. 368 of the parish of Te Rapa aforesaid; and towards the north-west by the said stream from the south-eastern angle of allotment No. 368 last-named to the Waikato river at the south-eastern angle of allotment No. 242 first mentioned, the place of commencement.
