PROCLAMATION.

Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in me as Superintendent aforesaid by an Act of the Local Legislature of the Province of Auckland intituled "An Act to abate the Nuisance caused by Dogs" (Session 1, No. 4, 1854), I do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the publication hereof, the said Act shall come into operation within the District of

WHAREORA,
as constituted under "The Highways Act, 1871."

Given under my hand and the public seal of the Province of Auckland, this twenty-fifth day of July, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.

HAURAKI GOLDFIELD.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 25th July, 1871.

IN pursuance of the 29th section of "The Goldfields Act, 1866," and of the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant Leases for Gold Mining purposes to the applicants specified in the Schedule hereunder, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Leases.

Copies of the applications made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Grahamstown.

SCHEDULE.

The Thistle Gold Mining Company (to be Registered), applied for by Wm. H. Jenkins; 15 years’ lease of 12 acres, more or less, auriferous land, situated in the Tararu Block, on the second creek, northeast point of the Look-out Rock; part held under Miners’ Rights; Easement required—Right of Roads and Water; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 12:25 p.m., 8th July, 1871.—R.B. 931.

The Occidental Gold Mining Company, to be Registered, applied for by John Mowbray; 15 years’ lease of 16 acres, bounded by the "Sedan" Lease, "Great Southern" ground and Upper Tararu Creek; known as the "Occidental" Claim, part held under Miners’ Rights; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 1:20 p.m., 10th July, 1871.—R.B. 932.

The Lady Bird and Hand of Friendship Gold Mining Company, Registered, applied for by W. C. Wright; 15 years’ lease of 16½ acres; all the ground known as the "Occidental" Claim, held under Miners’ Rights; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 1:20 p.m., 10th July, 1871.—R.B. 932.
