PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 8th July, 1871.
IN pursuance of the 29th section of "The Goldfields Act, 1866," and of the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant Leases for Gold Mining purposes to the applicants specified in the Schedule hereunder, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Leases.
Copies of the applications made and Plans annexed may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Grahamstown.

SCHEDULE.
JOHN BATES and JAMES ROLLESTON; 15 years’ lease of about 24 acres, situated on Karaka Block, bounded on the east by the "Just-in-time," on the south-east by the "Long Tunnel" Gold Mining Company, and on the south-west by the "Pickwick" Company; unoccupied ground to be named the "Kentuck"; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 1 p.m., 19th June, 1871—R.B. 913.
THE SOUTHEA CASTLE GOLD MINING COMPANY, to be registered, applied for by Robert M. Mitchell; 15 years’ lease of 15 acres, more or less, auriferous quartz land; bounded on the north by unoccupied ground, on the east and west by unoccupied ground, and on the south by the "Vulcan" lease; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 11:50 a.m., 21st June, 1871—R.B. 914.
GERALD O’HALLORAN, ROBERT FERRIS, PATRICK O’NEILL, and ABRAHAM BLOTT, Miners, Thames Goldfield; 15 years’ lease of 16 acres, more or less, quartz land, adjoining the "Nightingale" lease on the south-west side, running parallel with their boundary; unoccupied ground on other three sides, Upper Tararu, not beyond Vulcan lease; partly held under Miners’ Rights. Easement required—Roadway to the "Scottish Chief" Machine; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 12:50 p.m., 23rd June, 1871—R.B. 915.
THE LAURA GOLD MINING COMPANY, to be Registered, applied for by John Leydon; 15 years’ lease of 6 acres, Karaka Block; bounded by the leases granted to "Just in Time," "Pride of Moanataiari" and "Daylight" Companies’ ground; known as the "Laura" Claim; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 10:50 a.m. on 24th June, 1871—R.B. 916.
THOMAS HORSBRUGH and MATTHEW KINSELLA, of Grahamstown, Miners; 15 years’ lease of 16 acres; bounded on the South by the lease granted to Garvey and Foughey, and the "Vulcan" lease, and on the remaining sides by unoccupied ground, Upper Tararu; partly held under Miners’ Rights; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 11:20 a.m. on 24th June, 1871—R.B. 917.
