IT is hereby notified that Monday, the 30th day of January, instant, will be observed as a Public Holiday in celebration of the Thirty-first Anniversary of the Colony.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

I DO hereby notify by virtue of “The Auckland Waste Lands Act, 1867,” that the General Country Land hereinafter mentioned will be open for Selection and Sale, at the Waste Lands Office, at Auckland, on and after Friday, the 17th day of February, 1871.

SCHEDULE OF GENERAL COUNTRY LANDS.

Otakairangi block, Wairau River, Whangarei District, about 4,600 acres.

Parish of Whangaroa, County of Rutland, 46 acres adjoining lots 22 and 40.

Parish of Karioi, County of Rutland, 100 acres adjoining lot 96.

Parish of Owhiwa, Whanui block, County of Marsden, part of lot 121, adjoining lot 120, 46 acres.

Parish of Hoteo, Pakiri block, County of Marsden, 20 acres adjoining lot 18.

Parish of Puhoi, County of Marsden, lot 121 adjoining Cemetery Reserve, 20 acres.

At the upset price of ten shillings per acre.

Applications for any of the lands set forth above to be made in writing, and deposited in the Waste Lands Office, Auckland, before the 17th February, 1871.

HAURAKI GOLDFIELD.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Auckland, 19th January, 1871.

IN pursuance of the 29th Section of “The Goldfields Act, 1866,” and of the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant Leases for Gold Mining purposes to the Applicants specified in the Schedule hereunder, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Leases.

Copies of the Applications made, and Plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Grahamstown.

SCHEDULE.

THE BANK OF NEW ZEALAND GOLD MINING COMPANY, Registered, applied for by E. T. Wildman; 15 years’ lease of 8 acres, being all that portion of ground formerly leased by the “Bank of New Zealand” Gold Mining Company, Registered, also ground known as the “Monarch,” formerly leased to Thomas Jewett, together with abandoned ground formerly part of Claims known as the “Royal Standard,” and “Great Britain,” the said land being situated on the Candlelight Spur, Upper Waiotahi, and adjoining the “Multum in Parvo” Claim; application received in Warden’s office, Grahamstown, 1.25 p.m., 12th January, 1871, R.B. 811.

HUGH ROBERTS JONES, 15 years’ lease of 2 acres or thereabouts, bounded by “Moanatairi No. 7,” “West Coast,” Hand-in-Hand No. 2,” “Waitemata,” and “Crown” Leases, Karaka Block, formerly known as “Thieve Castle,” but now “Sedan” Claim; held under Miners’ Rights;
