dated January 6, 1871.

Flax Commission,

Wellington, 8th December, 1870.

THE House of Representatives having resolved that
there should be an Exhibition in Wellington
during the next session of the Assembly of all varieties
of Flax Fibre prepared in the Colony, Manufacturers
are invited to forward to the Flax Commissioners,
through the Superintendent of their Province, samples
of the Fibre, Rope, Sacking, or any other material
prepared by them from the New Zealand Flax. The
samples of fibre should not be less than 20lbs. in
weight, and 10 or 15 fathoms of each kind of rope
will be sufficient. It is desirable that a statement of
the processes and estimated cost of manufacture should
accompany the samples.

Court, which was held at Coromandel on the

I, THE Undersigned, John H. Salmon, hereby
make application to Register the “Scandinavian
Gold Mining Company Registered
,” under the pro-
visions of “The Mining Companies Limited Liability
Act, 1865,” and “The Mining Companies Limited
Liability Amendment Acts 1869 and 1870,” and I do
solemnly and sincerely declare that the following statement is, to
the best of my belief and knowledge, true in every
particular, namely:—

  1. The name and style of the Company is The
    Scandinavian Gold Mining Company Registered.

  2. The place of operations is at the Tararu Creek,
    at the Thames Goldfield, in the Province of Auckland,
    in the Colony of New Zealand.

  3. The nominal capital of the Company is Four
    thousand five hundred pounds in Four thousand five
    hundred shares of one pound each.

  4. The amount paid up in cash is nil, and in partly
    paid up shares is Two thousand two hundred and fifty
    pounds, being the estimated value of the mine.

  5. The name of the Manager is John H. Salmon.

  6. The office of the Company is in Brown-street,
    Grahamstown.

  7. The names and several residences of the share-
    holders, and the number of shares held by each at
    this date, are as follows, namely:—

Limited Liability Act, 1865,” and I do solemnly and
sincerely declare, that the following statement is, to
the best of my belief and knowledge, true in every
particular, namely:—

  1. That the name and style of the Company is
    The Eureka Hill Gold Mining Company Registered.

  2. The place of operations is at the Kuranui Spur,
    at the Thames Goldfield, in the Province of Auckland,
    in the Colony of New Zealand.

  3. The nominal capital of the Company is Ten
    thousand pounds in four thousand shares of two
    pounds ten shillings each.

  4. The amount paid up is Four thousand five hun-
    dred pounds, made up of Four thousand pounds
    allotted in paid up scrip and Five hundred pounds in
    cash.

  5. The name of the Manager is Joseph Friar
    Clarke.

  6. The office of the Company is in Queen-street,
    Auckland.

  7. The names and several residences of the share-
    holders, and the number of shares held by each at
