THE EAST TAMAKI HIGHWAY DISTRICT.

AMENDED BOUNDARIES.

Bounded towards the north by the northern boundaries of allotments Nos. 27, 85, 97 and 80 of the Parish of Pakuranga from King’s Creek at the north-western angle of lot No. 26 to the road which forms the eastern boundary of allotment No. 80 aforesaid; towards the east by the before-mentioned road from the north-eastern angle of allotment No. 80 of the Parish of Pakuranga aforesaid to the north-western angle of allotment No. 217; again towards the north by the road which forms the northern boundary of allotment No. 217 aforesaid, and also the northern boundaries of allotments Nos. 270, 271, 273, and 275, to the north-western angle of allotment No. 118, and thence following the northern boundary of allotment No. 118 before-mentioned to its north-eastern angle; again towards the east by part of the eastern boundary of allotment No. 118 aforesaid, part of the south-western boundary of allotment No. 131, part of the south-eastern boundary of allotment No. 139, the eastern boundary of allotment No. 176, the eastern and part of the southern boundaries of allotment No. 175, and the eastern boundary of allotment No. 137, all of the Parish of Pakuranga aforesaid, part of the northern, the eastern, and part of the southern boundaries of allotment No. 91 of the Parish of Manurewa, and the eastern boundary of allotment No. 94, of the Parish of Manurewa aforesaid, to its south-eastern angle at the northern boundary of Clendon’s Grant; towards the south by the northern and part of the north-western boundaries of Clendon’s Grant aforesaid to the southern angle of allotment No. 40 of the parish of Manurewa before-mentioned, thence by the road which forms the south-western boundary of allotment No. 40 aforesaid, and also the south-western boundaries of allotments Nos. 39, 36, 12, and 11, to the Southern boundary of allotment No. 10, all of the Parish of Manurewa aforesaid, and by the same road continued through allotments Nos. 10 aforesaid and 9 to the Tamaki River, and towards the west by high water mark of the Tamaki river and King’s Creek beforementioned, to the north-western angle of allotment No. 27 first mentioned the place of commencement.

All that parcel of land in the Province of Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand, containing four acres more or less, situated in the parish of Paparoa, in the County of Marsden, and being part of allotments Nos. 44, 45 and 46; bounded towards the north by a road 100 links wide, 58 links; towards the south-east by allotments Nos. 44, 46 and 45, 551 links, 225 links, 1,178 links, 1,088 links, 161 links, 434 links, 232 links, 361 links, 296 links, 243 links, 241 links, 1,100 links, 402 links and 1,691 links; towards the south by a road of width aforesaid, 64 links, and towards the north-west by allotments Nos. 45, 46 and 44, 1,749 links, 435 links, 1,130 links, 231 links, 236 links, 309 links, 343 links, 206 links, 450 links, 165 links, 1,051 links, 1,151 links, 212 links and 580 links, and delineated and colored yellow on plan No. 1,016 in the Waste Lands Office.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Auckland, 21st April, 1871.

IN pursuance of the 29th Section of "The Goldfields Act, 1866," and of the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant Leases for Gold Mining purposes to the Applicants specified in the Schedule hereunder, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Leases.

Copies of the Applications made, and Plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Grahamstown.

SCHEDULE.

WILLIAM WILSON POINGDESTRE, JOHN CARFRAE, and THOMAS HUNTER, applied for by John H. Salmon; 15 years’ lease of 3 acres, bounded North-easterly by the "Waiotahi" Gold Mining Company, Easterly by the "Waiotahi" Gold Mining Company, Southerly by the "Hidden Treasure" Gold Mining Company, South-westerly by the "Imperial Crown" Gold Mining Company, Westerly by the late "Golden Gate" Gold Mining Company, and Northerly by the late "Golden Hill" Gold Mining Company’s ground, Karaka; known as the "Perseverance" Claim; held partly under Miners’ Rights, and partly under Lease to William Wilson Poingdestre dated 17th February, 1871; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 11.30 p.m., 3rd April, 1871—R.B. 838.

JOHN CLAIR, of Paterangi, Waikato, Settler, applied for by Albert Walker; 15 years’ lease of 10 men’s ground, more or less, bounded on the North by the "Waiotahi" Lease, on the West and South by the "Imperial Crown" and "Prince Imperial" Leases, and on the East by the "Mariner’s Reef" and "Sailor Prince" Claims, Karaka; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 3.6 p.m., 3rd April, 1871—R.B. 839.

THE Imperial Crown Gold Mining Company, Limited; applied for by J. Reeve, 15 years’ lease of 8 acres, auriferous land, situated on the Karaka Block, Thames Goldfield; bounded on the South by the "Prince Imperial" lease, on the North and East by ground now held by the "Imperial Crown" Gold Mining Company, on the North-west by the "Herald" Company’s lease, and on the West by high-water mark, part held under lease surrendered, and part unoccupied ground; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 10.45 a.m., 5th April, 1871—R.B. 840.

JOHN CLARE, Paterangi settler, applied for by Alexander Brodie; 15 years’ lease of 16 acres, more or less, Karaka Block; bounded by the late "Bachelors," "Montgomery Brothers," "Wade," and "Best Wrinkle" Claims, "Nonpareil" and "Bass Rock" Leases, and including portion of "Band of Hope," "Golden Block," "Tui and Cuckoo" and "Southern Enterprise" Leases; known as the "Canadian" Claim; application
