HAURAKI GOLDFIELD.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 4th April, 1871.

IN pursuance of the 29th Section of “The Goldfields Act, 1866,” and of the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant Leases for Gold Mining purposes to the Applicants specified in the Schedule hereunder, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Leases.

Copies of the Applications made, and Plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Grahamstown.

SCHEDULE.

JAMES BROWN, JAMES JACKMAN, FRANZ SCHERFF, and SAMUEL JOHN STRATFORD, applied for by H. Czerwonka; 15 years’ lease of about 15 acres; bounded by the “Beach Claims No. 2 and No. 1,” “Mariner’s Reef,” and “Sailor Prince” Gold Mining Companies’ Leases, “Cornstock” Lease, and unoccupied ground, Karaka Block, in known as the “Sailor Prince Claim amalgamated,” partly held under Miners’ Rights; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 1:40 p.m. 31st March, 1871. R.B. 836.

WILLIAM FOUGHY and JAMES GARVEY, applied for by William Foughy; 15 years’ lease of about 6 acres, Tararu, bounded on the South by the “Vulcan” Lease, and on the other sides by unoccupied ground; known as the “New Year’s Gift” Claim; held under Miners’ Rights, with right of road to Government track; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 12:10 p.m., 1st April, 1871. R.B. 837.
