PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 1st December, 1870.
The Superintendent, having been called upon to act under clause 13 of “The Highways Act, 1867,” by the appointment of Highway Trustees for the District of Howick Township under the said Act, hereby calls a public meeting of the Ratepayers of that District to be held at twelve o’clock, noon, on Monday, the 12th December instant, at the Thistle and Shamrock Hotel, Howick, for the expression of their views in regard to such appointment.

SCHEDULE.
- The Fees leviable at the Iron Store adjoining the Harbour Office on the Queen-street Wharf.
- The Fees chargeable for the supply of Water from the pipes laid down Queen-street Wharf, and from a 2-inch pipe at Wynyard Pier.
- The Tolls leviable at the Queen-street Wharf and Custom-house-street, and at the Gore-street Jetty, Breakwater Road, and Breakwater; together with the Fees chargeable at the Wharf Weigh Bridge.
- The Fees leviable at the Slaughterhouse, Newmarket.
- The Tolls leviable at the Panmure Bridge.
- The Tolls leviable at the Newmarket Turnpike Gate, and at the Remuera and Mount Eden Road (East) chain Bars; together with the Fees chargeable at the Newmarket Weigh Bridge.
- The Tolls leviable at the Otahuhu and Slippery Creek Turnpike Gates, Great South Road.
- The Tolls leviable at the Newton Toll Gate on the Great North Road at its junction with the Ponsonby Road.
- The Tolls leviable at the Mount Eden Road Toll Gate (next the Eden Vine Hotel), and at the Gaol Road chain Bar; together with the Royalty leviable for Scoria Ash taken from the Gravel Pits on the Mount Eden Reserve.
- The Tolls leviable at the New North Road Toll Gate (next the Eden Vine Hotel).
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

SEPARATE Tenders will be received at this Office, until noon of Monday, the 19th December proximo, for the under-mentioned Services and Supplies for the Provincial Government during the periods stated, commencing on the 1st January, 1871.
Printed forms of Tender, and copies of the conditions and specifications of the several contracts can be obtained at this Office.

It is hereby notified that the Tolls, &c., for the twelve calendar months commencing 1st January, 1871, enumerated in the Schedule hereunder, will be offered for sale by public auction at the mart of Messrs. Samuel Cochrane and Son, Fort-street, Auckland, on Monday, the 19th instant, at twelve o’clock noon.

HAURAKI GOLD FIELD.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 3rd December, 1870.
In pursuance of the 29th section of “The Gold Fields Act, 1866,” and of the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a Lease for Gold Mining purposes to the Applicant specified in the Schedule hereunder, unless valid objection can be shown against granting such Lease.
Copy of the Application made, and Plan annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Grahamstown.

The Moanataiari Gold Mining Company, Registered; applied for by Captain James Stone, per James Gribble; 15 years’ lease of about 2 acres, quartz reef; bounded on the South-east by “Hand-in-Hand No. 2,” East by “West Coast,” West by “Crown” and “Waitemata,” North by “Moanataiari” Lease, Karaka Block; Claim known as “Thrive Castle,” lease surrendered; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 10.30 a.m., 29th November, 1870, No. 803.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

It is hereby notified that the Mining Lease set forth in the Schedule hereunder has been surrendered, and that the land therein mentioned is now open for occupation.
