412 AUCKLAND PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT GAZETTE.

  1. Any member, upon proposing a motion or amendment, or speaking to any question, must rise and address the Chairman; and no Member shall be interrupted, unless by a call to order, when he shall resume his seat, and the question of order be decided by the Chairman, before the discussion is resumed, or any other business entered upon.

  2. No Member shall speak twice to a question, except in explanation, or the mover of a resolution in reply.

  3. When the mover of any resolution has exercised his right of reply, the Chairman shall put the question forthwith.

  4. When the Chairman rises to address the Board, any Member then speaking shall sit down.

  5. Committee Meetings shall be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays weekly unless otherwise ordered.

  6. No Committee Report shall be adopted, unless it shall have been brought up, read, and received at a previous meeting of the Board.

  7. All Committees shall be appointed by a Resolution of the Board.

  8. All preceding Rules for the regulation of the Board shall apply to Committees, except clause 19.

  9. Any Member of the Board may be appointed Chairman of Committee.

  10. Committees shall consider only such matters as have been referred to them by the Board.

  11. Every resolution passed in Committee shall be brought up by the Chairman of Committee at the next succeeding Meeting of the Board, without question and in its due order.

  12. It shall be lawful for any Member of the Board to protest against the passing of Standing Orders, Bye-laws or Amendments thereof, and such protest shall be fairly written and signed by the Member or Members protesting, and shall be duly entered at the end of the Minutes of that Meeting and signed by the Chairman.

  13. Any proposed Bye-law or Amendment of any Bye-law, or Standing Order, shall be read a first time, without discussion. On a second reading, discussion may take place, and it may then be referred to a Committee of the Board, or read over a third time and passed, amended, or be disallowed; and no Bye-law disallowed shall be again proposed in the Board during that year.

  14. Seven o’clock p.m. shall be deemed the regular hour of all Meetings.

  15. The Chairman of the Board may give notice or move any Resolution, providing that, previous to proposing such resolution, he leave the Chair, and another Member be appointed pro. tem., until such resolution or resolutions shall have been disposed of, when he shall again resume the Chair.

SCHEDULE.

John Crosbie: 15 years’ lease of about 3 acres; being all that piece of land in the Moanataiari Creek, known as the “Hazlebank” Claim, adjoining “Kelly’s,” “Otago,” “Caledonian,” “Young American” and “Belfast” Claims, Karaka; at present held under Miners’ Right; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 12.25 p.m. 20th October, 1870. No. 798.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

I HEREBY notify for general information that, under the authority of an Act of the General Assembly intituled “The Gaolers’ Act, 1858,” I have appointed

Sergeant William Evers,
of the Armed Constabulary Force, to be the Gaoler of the Public Gaol at Shortland, from the 1st November proximo, in the place of Constable James Foster.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By Thomas Bannatyne Gillies, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers in me vested in that behalf by “The Impounding Act, 1867,” I do hereby appoint those premises situate at Morningside, within the Mount Albert Highway District, on land belonging to Mr. A. K. Taylor, and leased to Mr. P. K. Devlin, to be and be used as a Public Pound for the purposes of the said recited Act.

I DO hereby notify that the Highway Trustees of the Mount Albert District under “The Highways Act, 1867,” have, with my approval, appointed

Mr. Peter Kassidy Devlin,
to be the Keeper of the Public Pound at Morningside within the said District.

And I do hereby further notify that the Fees and Prices, set forth in the following Schedule, may be taken and charged by the said Keeper.

I.—Poundage Fees.

For every Horse, Mare, Gelding, Colt, Filly, Foal, Mule, or Ass ... 2s 6d
Bull, Cow, Ox, Steer, Heifer, or Calf ... 2s 6d
Boar, Sow, or other pig ... 1s 0d
Goat or Kid ... 1s 0d

The above fees to be paid for each day, or part of a day, during which the animal is kept in pound.

HAURAKI GOLD FIELD.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 24th October, 1870.

IN pursuance of the 29th section of “The Gold Fields Act, 1866,” and of the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a Lease for Gold Mining purposes to the Applicant specified in the Schedule hereunder, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Lease.

Copy of the Application made, and Plan annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Grahamstown.
