property of Henry Chamberlain of Auckland Esquire. And whereas it is expedient that the land occupied by the said roads should be granted to the said Henry Chamberlain his heirs and assigns in fee simple.

BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Superintendent of Auckland by and with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council thereof as follows :

ROADS IN SCHEDULE A TO BE CLOSED.

  1. From and after the passing of this Act the said roads mentioned and described in the Schedule A to this Act annexed shall be closed and cease to be used for public purposes.

LAND MAY BE GRANTED TO HENRY CHAMBERLIN.

  1. It shall be lawful for His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand to grant the land occupied by the said roads to the said Henry Chamberlin his heirs and assigns in fee simple.

SHORT TITLE.

  1. The short title of this Act shall be "The Opaheke Road Act, 1870."

SCHEDULE A.

A road 100 links wide intersecting and traversing allotments 29 and 31 of the parish of Opaheke in a direction from North to South.

A road 100 links wide bounding lots 26 and 30 of the said parish on the South-west, and bounding lots 29 and 31 of the said parish on the North-east.

A road 100 links wide bounding lot 27 on the South-west and bounding lot 30 on the North-east.

A road 100 links wide, bounding lots 25 and 28 of the said parish on the West and bounding lots 24, 27, and 30 of the said parish on the East as the said roads are delineated on a plan intituled Opaheke Road Act, 1870, deposited in the Waste Lands Office at Auckland and therein distinguished by being coloured brown and marked with straight lines and dotted lines inside.

Advertisements must be forwarded to the Superintendent’s Office at Auckland, or to the authorized Agent at Shortland or at Coromandel, with pre-payment of the charge for insertion at the rates above specified.

Advertisements should be written on one side of the paper; and names, signatures, &c., must be written in a legible hand, to save mistakes.

The number of insertions required should be written across the face of the advertisement.

The Government will not guarantee the publication of any notice or advertisement within a given date; nor will the same be inserted unless pre-paid.

SUBSCRIPTION.

The subscription is at the rate of £2 per annum or 10s. 6d. per quarter, payable in advance.

Subscriptions are required to terminate with the quarters ending March, June, September, or December. A less period than three months cannot be subscribed for.
