PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

I HEREBY notify for public information that
the Land mentioned and described in the
Schedule hereunder written has been taken as a
Public Road.

Given under my hand at Auckland,
this eleventh day of May,
One thousand eight hundred and seventy.

Schedule.

A Road one hundred links in width, traversing
allotments Nos. 306 and 307 of the Parish of
Pukeatua, County of Eden, and lying to the West-
ward of the Eastern boundaries of said lots, as the
same is marked on the Official Map of the locality
deposited in the Waste Lands Office.

I HEREBY notify that the Chairman of the
Board of Highway Trustees for the
Kauaeranga District has reported in writing to
me the election of

Mr. Richard Laishely
as a Highway Trustee for that District, in the
room of Dr. Henry Weekes, resigned.

HAURAKI GOLD FIELD.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 16th May, 1870.

In pursuance of the 29th section of "The Gold
Fields Act, 1866," and of the Regulations made
under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold
Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is in-
tended to grant Leases for Gold Mining purposes
to the Applicants named in the Schedule hereunder,
unless valid objections can be shown against grant-
ing such Leases.

Copies of the Applications made, and Plans
annexed, may be seen at the Wardens’ Office, Short-
land.

SCHEDULE.

George William Jones, for the Shooting Star
Gold Mining Company, Registered; 15
years’ lease of 33 acres, more or less, of
Auriferous quartz land, situate on the
Moanataiari Creek, including the "Shoot-
ing Star" and the "Hand-in-Hand"
Companies’ ground; bounded by the
"Providence" to North Star," "Middle
Star," "General Grant," "Pukehinau,"
and "United Service" Gold Mining Com-
pany’s ground, Karaka Block; held under
Miners’ Rights; application received in
Wardens’ Office, Shortland, at 1.55 p.m.,
11th May, 1870.

William Rowe, for the North Devon Gold Mining
Company, Registered; 15 years’ lease of
about 7 acres of quartz land; situated on
