JAMES MONTEITH MCLAREN, for the Hill of Howth Gold Mining Company, Coromandel; 15 years’ lease of 16½ acres; bounded by the Pukewhan Creek on the East, and on the North, South, and West, by unoccupied ground; application notified in Gazette No. 80, dated 22nd October, 1869, page 1367.

JOHN DRUMMOND, for the Wicklow Mountains Gold Mining Company, Coromandel; 15 years’ lease of 16½ acres; bounded on the South by the “Hill of Howth” Gold Mining Company, and on the North, East, and West, by unoccupied ground; application notified in Gazette No. 80, dated 22nd October, 1869, page 1368.

ERNEST BIEBER and PARTY; 15 years’ lease of 14 men’s ground; situated at Tararu Creek; adjoining the “Monte Video” and “Tarbert Castle”; application notified in Gazette No. 73, dated 29th September, 1869, page 1241.

GEORGE LEANING; 15 years’ lease of 10 acres; situate at Karaka Flat, adjoining the “Bright Omen” Claim, and bounded by Bateman’s fence; application notified in Gazette No. 70, dated 25th September, 1869, page 1186.

PETER JOSEPH DALTON, for the Golden Harvest Gold Mining Company; 15 years’ lease of 10 acres more or less; situate at Karaka Creek, consisting of the following Claims, viz.; “Britannia,” “Pride of the Hapo,” “Devon and Cornwall,” “Rose of Australia,” “Star of the North,” and spare ground; application notified in Gazette No. 70, dated 25th September, 1869, page 1173.

It is hereby notified that Leases have been refused to the Applicants named in the Schedule hereunder, and that the land therein mentioned, in so far as not occupied under Miners’ Rights, is now open for occupation. Plans may be seen at the Engineer’s Office, Grahamstown.

C. W. MIDDLETON, for the Red River Gold Mining Company; 15 years’ lease of 12 acres; bounded on the North by “Halcyon” Gold Mining Company, on the South by “Union Jack No. 3” Claim, on the North-west by “Royal Exchange” Gold Mining Company, and on the West by “Cornish Mount” Gold Mining Company; application notified in Gazette No. 78, dated 13th October, 1869, page 1335.

DANIEL JERMYN and JAMES DUNNE; 15 years’ lease of about 15 acres; situate on the Karaka Creek; bounded by “Sprig of Shillelagh” Claim, “Earl of Erin” Gold Mining Company, “Pride of Parnell” Gold Mining Company, “Mount Aurum” Gold Mining Company, “Pride of Shortland” Gold Mining Company, and J. WILLIAM F. HUNT; 15 years’ lease of 15 acres more or less; situated in Tinkers’ Gully, between the “New Zealand” Gold Mining Company and “Golden Rocket” Claim; formerly known as the “Kaitaia” Claim; application notified in Gazette No. 72, dated 28th September, 1869, page 1211.

WILLIAM MORGAN, HUGH MCLIVER, JOSEPH WEBB, ALEXANDER SELLARS, and DANIEL SELLARS, applied for by William Fraser; 15 years’ lease of 16 acres; situated on the Alabama Creek, Puriri; bounded towards the North-west by the “Eclipse,” “Dawn of Hope,” and “Bon Esperance” Claims, towards the North-east by the “Multum, in Parvo” Claim, towards the South-east by the “Wrekin” Gold Mining Company, and towards the South-west by the “Perseverance” Company; application notified in Gazette No. 64, dated 10th September, 1869, page 1032.
