PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 7th April, 1870.

IN pursuance of the 29th Section of “The Gold Fields Act 1866,” and of the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant Leases for Gold Mining purposes to the Applicants specified in the Schedule hereunder, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Leases.

Copies of the Applications made, and Plans annexed, may be seen at the Wardens’ Office Shortland.

SCHEDULE.

A. H. STONEY, for the Sailor Prince Gold Mining Company, Registered; 15 years’ lease of 8 acres more or less, situated on the Waiotahi Spur; bounded by the “Golden Crown Extended,” “Mariners’ Reef,” “Beach Claim,” “Anchor of Hope,” and “Canterbury” Gold Mining Company; known as the “Sailor Prince” Claim, and spare ground adjoining; application received in Warden’s Office, Shortland, at 11 a.m., 6th April, 1870.

DAVID PHILP, for the Onehunga Gold Mining Company, Registered; 15 years’ lease of 21 men’s ground, and any surplus ground within pegs; situate in the Karaka; bounded on the North by the “Rising Sun” Claim, now abandoned, and “Argyle” Gold Mining Company, Registered, on the East by “Waitemata,” and “Ebenezer” Claims, on the South by “Cream of Karaka” Claim, and “Atlas” Gold Mining Company, Registered, and on the West by “Coolabagh” Gold Mining Company, Registered, and “Lone Star”

lease; known as the “Star of Onehunga” Claim; application received in Wardens’ Office, Shortland, at 11.50 a.m., 6th April, 1870.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Auckland, 6th April, 1870.

IT is hereby notified that the Lease of Machine Site (Waiotahi), granted to the “FRANKHAUPT GOLD MINING COMPANY (Registered),” upon application, dated 11th December, 1868, and published in the Gazette, No 1 of 11th January, 1869, page 10, has been cancelled, and that all rights, privileges, and claims, in respect of the application of the same, are deemed to be forfeited.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IT is hereby notified that Leases have been refused to the Applicants named in the Schedule hereunder, and that the land therein mentioned, in so far as not occupied under Miners’ Rights, is now open for occupation. Plans may be seen at the Engineer’s Office, Coromandel.

ARTHUR KIRK, for the Golden Bar Gold Mining Company, Coromandel; 15 years’ lease of 16 acres; situated on the Coromandel Gold Field, lying North of the Wairoa Creek, and bounded by unoccupied ground; application notified in Gazette No. 78, dated 13th October, 1869, page 1321.

HENRY INNS, for self and party; 15 years’ lease of 16 acres; situated on a branch of the Pukewhau Creek, adjoining “Carnell’s”
