PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IT is hereby notified that Leases have been refused to the Applicants named in the Schedule hereunder, and that the land therein mentioned, in so far as not occupied under Miners’ Rights, is now open for occupation. Plans may be seen at the Engineer’s Office, Coromandel.

E. H. BEERE, for the Compensation Claim Company, Coromandel, 15 years’ lease of about 8 acres; situated at Kennedy’s Bay, known as the “Compensation” claim; application notified in Gazette No. 86, dated 8th November, 1869, page 1501.

E. H. BEERE, for the Timbuctoo Claim Company, Coromandel, 15 years’ lease of about 12 acres; situated between Coromandel and Kennedy’s Bay, known as the “Timbuctoo” claim; application notified in Gazette No. 86, dated 8th November, 1869, page 1502.

R. C. JORDAN, for the Shotover No. 1, Coromandel, Gold Mining Company (Registered); 15 years’ lease of 16 acres; situate in Coromandel Gold Field, comprising the claims known as the “Shotover No. 1,” “Diggers’ Friend,” “Scotia,” “Great Nugget,” “New Chum,” and surplus ground; application notified in Gazette No. 86, dated 8th November, 1869, page 1503.

IT is hereby notified that the several Mining Leases, set forth in the Schedule hereunder, have been cancelled on account of non-execution, and that all rights, privileges, and claims in respect of the applications for the same are deemed to have been forfeited, and that the land therein mentioned, in so far as not occupied under Miners’ Rights, is now open for occupation. Plans may be seen at the Engineer’s Office, Grahamstown.

The Saint Andrews Gold Mining Company Registered; applied for by William Watson; 15 years’ lease of 5 acres more or less; situate on the Karaka Creek; known as the ground belonging to the “Saint Andrew’s” Gold Mining Company Registered; application notified in Gazette No. 34, dated 29th May, 1869, page 424.

The Southern Enterprise Gold Mining Company Registered; applied for by Joseph Lyle; 15 years’ lease of 10 acres; situate in Waiotahi Creek, adjoining the “Try Again;” known as the “Southern Enterprise” Gold Mining Company’s claim; application notified in Gazette No. 21, dated 16th April, 1869, page 330.

The Gipps’ Land Gold Mining Company Registered, applied for by George Element; 10 years’ lease of 16 acres; bounded by the “Queen of the South” and “Reliance” claims, situated in the Puriri District; known as the “Gipps’ Land” Gold Mining Company’s claim; application notified in Gazette No. 53, dated 27th August, 1869, page 839.

ALFRED H. BULL, 15 years’ lease of about 6 acres, bounded North by “Colleen Bawn,” South by “Melbourne,” East by “Mount Alexandria,” and West by “Rejected,” Karaka Block; known as the “Ovens” Gold Mining Company’s claim; application notified in Gazette No. 73, dated 29th September, 1869, page 1238.

WILLIAM FINNIMORE, for the Sea Foam Gold Mining Company, 15 years’ lease of 16 acres, bounded by the “Auriferous Spur” Gold Mining Company, “Seven Pillars” claim, “Valentine” Gold Mining Company, and the “Wellington Pride” claim, and situated on the beach between Kuranui Creek and Shellback Creek, Karaka block; application notified in Gazette No. 72, dated 28th September, 1869, page 1214.

PETER JOSEPH DALTON, for the St. George Gold Mining Company, 15 years’ lease of 15 acres more or less, situate on the Otunui block, Hape Creek, adjoining the “Tweedside” and “Inkermann and Durham” Gold Mining Company; application notified in Gazette No. 60, dated 1st September, 1869, page 916.

ANDREW BURNS and SAUL WALLINGTON, 15 years’ lease of 15 acres, situated in the Otunui block, and within one claim on the South-west boundary from the “Golden Phoenix” held by Alexander Bruce and party; application notified in Gazette No. 57, dated 25th August, 1869, page 817.

C. W. MIDDLETON, for the Canadian Gold Mining Company, 15 years’ lease of 15 acres, bounded on the West by “United States” lease, on the East by Powder Magazine, on the North by Bull’s Machine, and on the South by Pollen-street; application notified in Gazette No. 57, dated 25th August, 1869, page 826.

JOSEPH LYLE, for the Magna Charta Gold Mining Company, 15 years’ lease of 12 acres, adjoining “Short Drive” and “Great Atlantic” claims, known as the “Magna Charta” claim; application notified in Gazette No. 86, dated 8th November, 1869, page 1511.

BOSWELL DANDY DANTERS, for the “Bell Bird” Gold Mining Company; 15 years’ lease of 15 acres; situated about one mile to the South-east of “Wild Missouri” claim, Tararu, and about half a mile from the “Queen of the East;” application notified in Gazette No. 62, dated 6th September, 1869, page 951.

MORDAUNT SMALPAGE, for the “Dawn of Light” Gold Mining Company; 15 years’ lease of 16 acres; situated on the Karaka Creek; bounded on the North by “Alabama” Lease, South by “Golden Bar” Lease, East by Karaka Creek, and West by the “Confidence” claim; application notified in Gazette No. 66, dated 15th September, 1869, page 1068.

JAMES FULLER and party; 15 years’ lease of about 4 men’s ground; situate on the Waiotahi Creek; known as the “Ingomar” claim; application notified in Gazette No. 80, dated 22nd October, 1869, page 1380.
