PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 18th March, 1870.

In pursuance of the 29th section of "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," I do hereby give notice of my intention to grant a Lease to "The Tokatea Gold Mining Company (Registered)," for the term of fifteen years, of about twelve acres of land, situate on the main range between Kennedy’s Bay and Coromandel, known as the Tokatea Range.

It is hereby notified that the several applications for Mining Leases set forth in the Schedule hereunder have been withdrawn, and that the land therein mentioned, in so far as not occupied under Miners’ Rights, is now open for occupation. Plans may be seen at the Engineer’s Office, Grahamstown.

SCHEDULE.

EDWARD MOONHOUSE, 15 years’ lease of 15 acres; situated near the head of Karaka Creek, and adjoining the "Reform," "Charlesmont," and "Great Leviatham" claims; application notified in Gazette No. 72, dated 29th September, 1869, page 1223; withdrawn 2nd March, 1870.

W. S. LYELL, for the Christmas Eve Gold Mining Company; 15 years’ lease of 6 acres; situated on the Karaka Creek, and bounded by the following claims: "Whitby Rock," "Monster Gold Mining Company," "Cornish Mount," "Lord Clyde," and "Star of Karaka." Application notified in Gazette No. 68, dated 20th September, 1869, page 1102; withdrawn 4th March, 1870.

JOHN GIBSONS, for the Tapu Creek Tramway and Crushing Company (Registered); 15 years’ lease of 16 acres more or less; bounded by the "Shamrock" and "Munster Lass" claims. Application notified in Gazette No. 73, dated 29th September, 1869, page 1229; withdrawn 4th March, 1870.

WALTER SULLY, for the Shamrock Gold Mining Company (Registered); 15 years’ lease of about 2 acres, situated on the Waiohatu Creek, bounded by the "Liverpool Boys," "Ballarat and Rising Sun," and "Princess Alice" Gold Mining Company’s claims; known as the Shamrock claim; application notified in Gazette No. 76, dated 7th October, 1869, page 1310; withdrawn 5th March, 1870.

N. W. MASSEY, for the Star of Canterbury Gold Mining Company (Registered); 15 years’ lease of 10 acres more or less, bounded on the North by the "Golconda," on the South by the "Golden Belt," on the West by "Vale of Arden," and on the East by the Kurunui Gold Mining Company’s lease; known as the Star of Canterbury Gold Mining Company’s claim; application notified in Gazette No. 67, dated 17th September, 1869, page 1083; withdrawn 5th March, 1870.

HENRY BINNS, for self and party, 15 years’ lease of 15 acres, situated at Tararu Creek, adjoining the "Scottish Chief" lease on the southern boundary; known as the "Heart."
