It is hereby notified that

PREVET GRAHAM, Esq.;
WILLIAM DENSHAM, Esq.;

WHEREAS by the "Native Lands Act, 1869" it is enacted that every certificate of Title granted by the Native Lands Court shall be dated on the day on which it shall be signed by the Judge signing the same, and such day shall be deemed to be the day of the issue thereof; and it is further provided that it shall be lawful for any Judge issuing a Certificate of Title, if he think fit, to fix in such Certificate a day on which the legal estate in the land described in the said Certificate shall be vested under any Crown Grant of the same to be thereafter issued.

Provided that such day shall not be before the date on which the order for the Certificate was made in Court. And it is further provided that every conveyance, transfer, gift, contract, or promise, affecting or relating to the land in respect of which such Certificate of Title is granted, made, or entered into, after the day so fixed in such Certificate, shall not be void under or affected by the 75th Section of the "Native Lands Act, 1865."

Now, I hereby give notice, that on the 27th day of September instant, I purpose to sign all the Certificates of Title to land within the township of Shortland, which have been heretofore ordered, and to fix the several days on which the Orders for such Certificates were made as the days on which the legal estates shall respectively vest, unless application shall in the meantime be made to me in writing stating some objection to such dates, in which case I will fix a day on which such objections may be heard.

Dated Wellington, September 4th, 1869.
