PROCLAMATION.
By John Williamson, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.
WHEREAS, by an Act of the Local Legislature of the Province of Auckland, intituled "An Act to consolidate and amend the Laws relating to Slaughter-houses," (Session XIX, No. 5,) it was amongst other things enacted that it should be lawful for the Superintendent of the said Province, by proclamation in the Provincial Government Gazette, from time to time, to constitute and define Slaughter-house Districts, and to appoint one or more Public Slaughter-houses for each of such Districts;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the power so vested in me in that behalf by the said Act, I, John Williamson, the Superintendent of the said Province, do hereby proclaim that I do constitute and define the Town of Shortland to be a Slaughter-house District, within the meaning of the said Act, the limits of which shall comprise all those lands, bounded on the west by the sea, on the south-west and south by the Wai Whuka Urunga Creek to the Church Mission Station, on the east by a line on a bearing of North 37° West from the Church Mission Station, to the Karaka Stream, and on the north by the Karaka Stream to the sea.
And I do further proclaim that I do appoint the premises situate at Karaka Creek, erected by Mr. William Walters, of Auckland, and likewise those premises situate at Waiwhakaurunga, erected by Messrs. George McLeod and Struan Robertson, to be respectively Public Slaughter-houses for the said District, within the meaning of the said Act.
Given under my hand, at Auckland, this third day of March, in the year of Our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.

I HEREBY notify for general information, that, under and in compliance with the provisions set forth in the eleventh section of "The Auckland Waste Lands Act, 1867," I have reserved and set apart as a place for a Public Stockyard, the land hereinafter described, namely:—
All that piece or parcel of land situated in the parish of Okura, in the County of Eden, and being allotment No. 24, bounded on the north-east by a road one hundred links wide, six hundred and fifty-three links;
