PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent of the Province
of Auckland, in the Colony of
New Zealand.

WHEREAS by an Act made and passed by the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council thereof, intituled “The Auckland Municipal Police Act, 1866,” it is amongst other things enacted that the Superintendent may from time to time, by public notification in the Provincial Government Gazette, appoint and define the limits of cities, towns, and other places within the Province of Auckland, for the purposes of this Act.

Now therefore I, the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, pursuant to the authority vested in me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, for the purposes of the said “Auckland Municipal Police Act, 1866,” the limits of the Town of Opotiki, within which the said Act shall come into force, shall comprise the Civil and Military Townships of Opotiki, both of which lie between and are bounded by the Otara River, on the north-east; the road which forms the southern boundary of the Military Township of Opotiki, on the south; the Waioeka River, on the west; and the...

WHEREAS by an Act of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Auckland, intituled “An Act to abate the nuisance caused by Dogs,” (Session 1, No. 4) it is amongst other things enacted that the said Act shall come into operation from time to time in such districts as shall be proclaimed by the Superintendent, in the Auckland Provincial Gazette, to come within the operation of the said Act:
