PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in me as Commissioner appointed by His Excellency the Governor to carry out the Regulations for the Sale of Lands taken for settlement under "The New Zealand Settlements Act, 1863," in the Province of Auckland, I do hereby notify that the Town Lands, specified in the Schedule hereunder written, will be offered for Sale, by public auction, in accordance with the said Regulations, at the Court House, Tauranga, at noon, on Wednesday, the 14th October, 1868.

THE undersigned, William Rowe, hereby make application to register "The Star of the South Gold Mining Company, Registered" under the provisions of "The Mining Companies Limited Liability Act, 1865," and I do solemnly and sincerely declare that the following statement is, to the best of my knowledge and belief, true in every particular, namely:—

  1. The name and style of the Company is "The Star of the South Gold Mining Company, Registered."

  2. The place of operations is at the Thames Gold Field, in the Province of Auckland.

  3. The nominal capital of the Company is Four thousand pounds in Three hundred and twenty shares of Twelve pounds and ten shillings each.

  4. The amount already paid up is Three thousand two hundred pounds.

  5. The name of the Manager is William Rowe.

  6. The Office of the Company is in Pollen Street, town of Shortland, Province of Auckland.

  7. The names and addresses of the shareholders, and the number of shares held by each at this date are as follows:—

    1. William Riley Garland, of Shortland, in the Province of Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand, Miner ... Forty Shares.
