Auckland, between THOMAS HENRY JONES and JOHN PHILIP SUMMERS DOBBIE, both of the City of Auckland, Merchants, as Plaintiffs, and ALEXANDER NEWTON, of the City of Sydney, in the Colony of New South Wales, Shipowner, as Defendant, and in order that the Plaintiffs may proceed in the said action, We command you, that you and each of you do retain and keep all and singular lands and other hereditaments, moneys, ships, vessels, boats, certificate of ships’ registry, ships’ titles, goods, chattels, and effects, bills, bonds, and all other property of whatsoever nature or kind in the custody or under the control of you or either of you, at the time of the service of this Writ, belonging to the above-named Defendant, or to or in which such Defendant shall at that time be legally or equitably entitled or otherwise beneficially interested, and whether solely or jointly with any other person or persons, and all debts of every kind then due by you or either of you to such Defendant, although the same or any part thereof may be payable only at a future day.

Between THE BANK OF NEW ZEALAND, Plaintiffs, and DAVID GRAHAM and JOHN GRAHAM, Defendants.

HEREAS, by virtue of a Writ of Fi. Fa., issued in this action, and directed to me, ordering me that of the real and personal estate of the above-named David Graham and John Graham I should cause to be made the sum of £2,808 11s. 9d., together with interest upon the said sum at the rate of £8 for every one hundred pounds by the year, from the 13th day of June, 1867, together with £1 13s. 4d for the said Writ and Warrant, besides Sheriff’s Poundage, Officer’s Fees, &c. Now I do hereby give notice that I shall cause to be sold by public auction, by C. Arthur & Son, at their Auction Mart, Queen-street, Auckland, on WEDNESDAY, the twenty-sixth day of August, 1868, at the hour of eleven o’clock in the forenoon, unless the said debt or sum of £2,803 11s. 9d. and interest be sooner paid, together with the said sum of £1 13s. 4d. besides Sheriff’s Poundage, Officer’s Fees, &c., all the estate, right, title, and interest of the said David Graham and John Graham of in and to all that allotment or parcel of land in the said Province, containing 186 acres 1 rood and 11 perches more or less, being allotment No. 12 of the Village of Wainuku; and all that allotment or parcel of land in the said Province, containing 174 acres and 24 perches more or less, being allotment No. 5 of the Village of Wainuku aforesaid; and all that allotment or parcel of land in the said Province, containing 92 acres and 16 perches more or less, being allotment No. 11 of the Village of Wainuku aforesaid; and all that allotment or parcel of land in the said Province, containing 61 acres 1 rood and 12 perches more or less, being part of No. 7 of Suburban Section 12 of Auckland aforesaid; and also all that parcel of land in the said Province being part of allotment No. 17 of suburban section No. 12 of Auckland aforesaid. And I further give notice that the estate and interest of the said David Graham consists of the equity of redemption.


THE undersigned, READER GILLSON WOOD, hereby make application to register “THE CALEDONIAN GOLD MINING COMPANY, REGISTERED,” under the provisions of “The Mining Companies’ Limited Liability Act, 1865,” and I do solemnly and sincerely declare that the following statement is to the best of my knowledge and belief true in every particular, namely—

  1. The name and style of the Company is “The Caledonian Gold Mining Company, Registered.”

  2. The place of operations is at the Thames Gold field, in the Province of Auckland.

  3. The nominal capital of the Company is Five Thousand and Forty Pounds in Four Hundred and Twenty Shares, of Twelve Pounds each.

  4. The amount already paid up is Four Thousand Two Hundred Pounds.

  5. The name of the Manager is Reader Gillson Wood.

  6. The Office of the Company is at Shortland-street, in the City of Auckland, in the Province aforesaid.

  7. The names and several residences of the Shareholders and the number of shares held by each at this date are as follows:—

  8. The Thames Gold Mining Company—Ninety-two shares.

  9. Edmond Holroyd Beere, of Shortland, in the Province of Auckland, surveyor—Fourteen shares.

  10. Charles Meysey, of Christchurch, in the Province of Canterbury, gentleman—Twenty-eight shares.
