PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 30th December, 1867.
I DO hereby notify by virtue of “The Auckland Waste Lands Act, 1867,” that the Block of General Country Land herein-after mentioned, will be open for selection and sale at the Waste Lands Office, at Auckland, on and after Tuesday, the 28th day of January, 1868.

Roketahi Block, Parish of Waioneke,
County of Eden. 650 acres at 10s. per acre.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 30th December, 1867.
WHEREAS by virtue of “The Highways Act, 1867,” it is provided that,
“If, at the first or any other annual meeting or adjournment thereof as aforesaid, the electors shall fail to elect Trustees for the ensuing year, and the chairman of such meeting shall not communicate to the Superintendent a reason for such omission, which the Superintendent shall consider sufficient; it shall be lawful for the Superintendent to appoint Trustees, who shall have the status, and all the powers, duties, and liabilities of Trustees elected as aforesaid.”
And Whereas it appears that the Highway Board of the District of Wairarapa South have failed to elect Trustees for the ensuing year, and that the Chairman of the meeting convened for that purpose, has not communicated to me a reason for such omission:
I, therefore, pursuant to the powers conferred upon me by the said Act, appoint
Joseph Friar Clarke,
Robert T. Inglis,
Abel Kelsall,
Edward Lovett,
John Sharp, Senr.
to be Trustees for the said District, for the ensuing year, under “The Highways Act, 1867.”
Given under my hand, at Auckland, this sixth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.
