Auckland, 19th January, 1867.

I HEREBY notify for general information, that a Writ, issued by me on the thirty-first day of December, 1866, for the election of a Member of the Provincial Council for the East Ward, City of Auckland, has been returned with an endorsement thereon as follows:—

"I, Henry Colin Balneavis, the Returning Officer for the Electoral District of the City East, do hereby declare that in pursuance of the writ to me directed, bearing date the thirty-first day of December, 1866, the undermentioned Candidate is duly elected a Member of the Provincial Council for the said District.

Dated this nineteenth day of January, 1867.

I DO HEREBY NOTIFY, by virtue of Clause 5 of "The Auckland Waste Lands Act, 1866," that the General Country Land hereinafter mentioned shall be open for selection and sale at the Waste Lands Office, at Auckland, on and after the 26th day of February next.

I HEREBY notify for general information that, the following allotment of Land has been set apart as a Reserve for an Endowment, and a site for a Common School.

Allotment No. 42, of the Village of "Buffalo," in the District of Coromandel.

Parish of Kapanga, Queen's County.

Bounded on the North East by parts of allotments numbers forty-four and forty-seven, three hundred and thirty-four links; on the South East by allotment number forty-three, three hundred links; on the South West by a street one hundred links wide, three hundred and thirty-four links, and on the North West by allotment number forty one, three hundred links.

Applications to be made in writing at any time before the 26th of February, 1867.
