MANUKAU HARBOUR, NEW ZEALAND.
SOUTH CHANNEL BEACONS AND BUOYS.
Pilot Station, 25th July, 1867.
NOTICE is hereby given, that the South Head Beacons are placed in line, bearing N.E. by N. ¼ N. by compass, to lead a fairway course between the shoals, from sea to the turning of the channel at the S.E. end of the Tranmere Shoal, bringing the North Shore Beacons (three) in line, bearing N. by W. by compass, will then lead a fairway to clear the South Head Spit and Emma Shoal.
The depth of water now found in the Southern Channel is 3 fathoms, at low water, spring tides, deepening quickly to 3½ and 4 fathoms after passing (inwards or outwards) the South part of the Tranmere.
