PUBLIC NOTIFICATION
By John Williamson, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.
UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in me in that behalf, by "The Sheep Act, 1863," made and passed by the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council thereof, I the Superintendent, do hereby appoint and constitute all that land, estimated to contain 214,000 acres, known as the Tauranga Block, bounded on the north-east by the sea, from the mouth of Wairakai Creek to Ngakuriawhare Point; on the south-east by a line bearing south 45Β° west (true) 16 miles; thence on the south-west by a line bearing north 45Β° west (true) to the summit or watershed of the dividing range of hills between the east coast and the Thames valley; and thence following the said watershed northward to the summit of the Aroha Mountain; and on the north-west by a straight line from the summit of the Aroha Mountain to Ngakuriawhare Point, to be a district for the purposes of the said Act, under the name of "The Tauranga Sheep District."

NOTIFICATION
By John Williamson, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand.
WHEREAS by an Act made and passed by the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council thereof, intituled the "Auckland Municipal Police Act, 1866," it is amongst other things enacted that the Superintendent may from time to time, by public notice in the Provincial Government Gazette, appoint and define the limits of cities, towns, and other places within the Province of Auckland, for the purposes of this Act.
Now therefore I, the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, pursuant to the authority vested in me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, for the purposes of the said "Auckland Municipal Police Act, 1866," the limits of the Town of Tauranga, within which the said Act shall come into force, shall comprise the whole of the lands originally purchased by the Church Missionary Society between Te Papa Point and the Gate Pa, together with the village of Greerton.
