THE following Clauses of the “Auckland Waste Lands Act, 1866,” are re-published for general information.

29. If any person shall be desirous of making, building or constructing any road, bridge or other work of public utility and of being allowed a grant of land in respect of the cost of the same, he shall make application in writing to the Superintendent for authority for that purpose.

30. If the Superintendent shall be satisfied after proper investigation and inquiry that it is desirable that the proposed road, bridge or other work of public utility should be made, built or constructed and the plans and specifications should be approved of by a competent person to be named by the Superintendent, the Superintendent shall grant authority for the said work to be completed.

31. When the said work is completed it shall be examined by a competent person to be appointed by the Superintendent and if such person shall report that the same is constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications and with proper materials and proper workmanship, the Superintendent shall give authority to the Commissioner to grant to such person land scrip to the extent of one-half of the value of the work performed, such value to be fixed by some competent person to be appointed by the Superintendent in that behalf.

32. The Commissioner shall grant land scrip accordingly and such land scrip shall be available as cash at any time within three months for the purchase according to the provisions of this Act of any town, suburban or general country land which may be open for sale.

31. A ka oti taua mahi ana Te Ara ranei, Piriti ranei mahi ke atu ranei hei pai mo nga tangata katoa, a kua tirohia taua mahi e te tahi tangata mohio, te tangata kua kiia e Te Hupiritene hei titiro i taua mahi, a ki te mea ka kitea e taua tangata he mea mahi taua Ara Piriti ranei ki te tikanga o nga pukapuka me nga mea i kiia hei mea mo taua mahi, a he mea mahi tika; penei ma Te Hupiritene e mea atu ki te Komihana kia hoatu eia te pukapuka (Kiripi) moni ki te tangata mana taua Ara ranei Piriti ranei, kia rite ki te hawhe o nga moni i pau mo to hanganga o taua Ara ranei Piriti ranei. Ko nga utu mo te hanganga o taua mea ma te tahi tangata mohio e titiro, ko taua tangata ma te Hupiritene e mea kia rapua eia taua utu.

32. A me tuku pukapuka moni taua Komihana. A ko taua pukapuka moni me rite ki te tino moni i roto i nga mara ma e toru hei hoko whenua Taone whenua e tata ana ki te taone ranei ki te whenua ke atu ranei e kiia ana kia hokona.
