PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By Daniel Pollen, Esquire, Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

PURSUANT to the powers vested in the Superintendent by the second clause of the "Highways Act, 1862," I do hereby declare that the lands comprised within the several boundaries hereunder described, shall be a district under the said Act, and that such district shall be known by a name thereto prefixed, that is to say,—

The Lake District, North Shore.

All those lands bounded on the North by the Southern boundary of Dacre’s claim and the Okura River, on the East by the sea, on the South by the Northern boundaries of allotments Nos. 1, 2, and 8 of the parish of Takapuna, and by high-water mark of Shoal Bay to the Southern boundary of allotment No. 68, and by the Southern boundaries of allotments Nos. 49 and 50, and on the West by the Western boundaries of allotments Nos. 49, 93, 102, 107; the Northern boundaries of allotments Nos. 107, 106, and 105; the Eastern boundaries of allotments Nos. 114, 116, 117, and 201, and by a right line from the North-East angle of allotment No. 201 to the South-West angle of Dacre’s claim, including all the roads traversing the before mentioned boundaries.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this fifth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.

The North Shore District.

All those lands bounded on the East by the Western boundary of the Lake District, thence by high-water mark of Shoal Bay to Stokes’ Point; on the South by the Waitemata River to Kauri Point, and on the West by the Waitemata River and Lucas’ Creek to the commencement of the road forming the boundary of allotments Nos. 229, 230, and 231 of the parish of Puneatua, thence by the said road until it intersects a right line from the North-East angle of allotment No. 201 of the parish of Takapuna to the South-West angle of Dacre’s claim, including all roads traversing the lands within the before mentioned boundaries.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this fifth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.
